Quick 23.5k update:
Brakes are feeling slightly warped. Went to Honda yesterday and they said it was "normal" due to the new organic materials and brakes aren't made like they used to and blah blah blah.
I told them that in the four cars I've owned, the brakes have NEVER warped at 23k. Our 06 Avalon has 70k and the brakes are perfect.
They said if it was within a year or 12k miles, Honda would have covered it. I'm a tad over a year, and double the mileage.
My fiancee likes my car more than hers. I may try to talk her into the Civic and I trade the Avalon in.
Short list. Cars listed in desired order:
'14 Accord Sport
'14 Mazda 6 Touring
'14 or CPO Mazda CX5 Touring FWD
CPO Lexus CT
CPO VW CC R - line
30+ mpg is a must. I still drive a lot for the time being. I really would like a new 4runner Trail or Jeep Grand Cherokee Eco Diesel, but those are way out of budget.

Love the looks of the CC, especially with R-Line specialties.
The 2014 Accord Sport is a really nice ride. You can't get all the bells and whistles in it, but the 18" wheels, power driver seat, and dual exhaust tips are a nice addition to the LX. I have the '14 Coupe 2.4L and I really love the way it drives, even with the CVT. The mileage is absolutely amazing and with a 17 gallon tank you'll NEVER fill up. I went 475 miles on my first tank that was supplied by the dealer. I'm currently averaging 29.8 MPG with 80% city driving.

I don't care for the new ones much
Just give me yours when you're done with school and move on to better things
No Taco, I drive too much. I don't need a 20mpg truck

The Mazda 6 is really nice. My friend just got one and the "fake" leather looks and feels real. The sound system sounds the same as what I can do in my Accord, although the bass was better in the 6. If you're cross-shopping the Accord and 6, you might also want to consider the Nissan Altima.

Audi Allroad. The '15 MY should have a diesel option.

I've got a 2012 Civic Lx to compliment my G and I have to say that these cars are lifesavers when it comes to gas. I'll go through two tanks in the G before I go through 1 in the Civic. Also, I haven't experienced any of the minor issues you've described in this thread. Weird.. either way, good luck choosing your new car!

I'm going to have the fogs addressed next service.
The only thing that worries me is that I bought them, and installed them myself. But they worked fine up until a few weeks ago.
If I go to where I bought the car, they may/may not know that it didn't come with fogs. The only reason I want to try the lot where I bought the car is that they offer a loaner, whereas the one five minutes from me doesn't.

I leave the fuel sipping duties to the 2007 Yamaha Vino 125 1 gallon 100miles

did you check to make sure you are getting +12V on the switch output? No power from switch = no relay energize = no lights one way to test is run +12 straight to relay and see if the lights come on

Kuba, I'd have a tough choice between the Accord Sport and Mazda 6 Touring. The Mazda seemed funner to drive, and has more stuff, but it all comes down to preference. The Mazda 6 gets the same highway mileage as my Civic.
Either would be a good choice. I'm torn as either one for my next car if I don't get something unpractical

Maybe clean/double check your grounds to help with the fogs?
Really jealous of your fuel economy right now. The Passat is getting 19 MPG on the highway.

check your 3rd brake light... most of the 08+ civic i have seen on the road including my gf's are out.
also the whole 37mpg highway rating on civic are very overrated. In the real world, i get about 24 50/50 mix and my gf gets 26 mpg mix on her civic.
to compare i get about 26mpg in my accord mixed and about 25mpg in 335i.
My theory is if MPG is your concern, low HP car is not necessarily more fuel efficient than some of the high HP cars with the right gearing in the real world. because you don't have to push as hard to drive normally.
