So I got a front plate ticket, and now I'm confused.

On Jan 30 I was pulled over and got a front plate fix-it ticket from a police officer in beverly hills. No biggie, I was speeding a little bit but he was cool about it and only wrote me up for the lack of a front plate.

My court date is April 1, and I was planning on showing up with a picture of my car with the front plate installed, but yesterday I received a letter in the mail with the citation info asking me to pay a "bail amount" of $25. This is my first traffic ticket and I have no idea what this means. Will the ticket just go away once I pay, or should I just show up in court on April 1st?

I tried calling the court but they're entire system is automated and it's impossible to get to an actual person that can help me, and the damn letter doesn't have any helpful info either.

Cliffs:
-Pulled over and got a ticket for front plate.
-Got a letter in the mail asking to pay $25
-Do I pay or just go to court with proof of correction?

Go to your local CHP offices and have an officer check your car. He will sign the back, take a copy and send it in.

I just got the license plate ticket while parked at Rodeo Dr. You can pay them and forget about it. That's what I did. You should be able to pay it online and you'll get a receipt that the ticket is dismissed.

You can do that, but you'll have to pay $10-15 for it. The fine is reduced to $10, but at the end you still spend $25 and you would have spent a lot more time taking care of it.

Unless you know something I don't.

Nope. CHP inspections are free. I live pretty close to a CHP office and have taken 3 people to take care of plate tickets. If the $10-15 is chump change then yeah just send in the $25 and it will all go away.

Here in NY it's the law to have a front plate. I've been lucky and haven't had to deal with it it yet on my TL, but I do have this pic printed out and saved to bring to court if I do get pulled over for it. Prob won't do anything but it's still funny.

P.S my friend at work was in a car accident and I was the first to see it so I pulled over. Cops weren't there for me, just closing the lane.
