Small Porsche Collection in DFW

So this past Saturday, Trancemission & I had an opportunity to visit a special Porsche collection hidden here in DFW. Although small, the owner has a story behind each car & a personality that defined the term, "enthusiast". From a '55 356 Continental to a bought-new Speedster to a 911 Carrera owned by the late Roy Orbison, the owner is a true Porsche-phile. So much so, that you'll find his name listed by Porsche as an official driver of the old Porsche 917Ks as well as other famous Porsche racers.

Besides the car collection, there is a large amount of car memorabilia within' his home that I had to photograph as well. Now, on to the pics.

Wow great collection and pics. The items with the tags, are those things for sale or just a description of the item?

I'd love to have the porsche stained glass.

The paintings are as they're done by an artist in Ft. Worth, iirc.

Everything else is just memorabilia.

Two things that I loved about that collection:

The Speedster with the perfect black Fuchs wheels (that car is amazing) and that FLOOR! Badass!

A friend of mine did that to his 914; it's crazy fast and more than a little scary around turns. If you're not careful, you end up facing the wrong direction. But, it makes me erupt in joyous laughter when I ride in the car and it's at WOT. Just awesome.

I do not know for certain, but I believe it was around $1,600, maybe a bit more. I'll ask the owner if I have a chance next time.

Cool, I know they had a limited production, if it's a factory 914-6. If the Carrera engine was swapped, it would still be an awesome drive.

My father and I restored a 1966 912 back in the late 70's. We brought it back to life after some years in a horse barn. He put a bolt on piston/cylinder kit to up the displacement and I put on new 40 IDA Webers, to replace the old Solex's, after I purchased it from him in the early 80's. It was a great driver. One of the best cars I've owned.

Haha.

Those 2 white Porsche flags in the pictures, on the same topic, actually came from the factory as well. But, I don't think they know that.

Nope. Lives in NE Scottsdale. His 914 is yellow though, in case you've seen it.
