Interesting, thanks for the link. The large truck aspect is a possibility BUT static installations might be even more appealing such as generators, efficiency is paramount and no need to haul the water.

wow, that is truely amazing. I'd really like to see exact details of how he set this up. I'm really into this kind of thing too as a mechanical engineer.

Note that it says that the engine uses roughly as much water as it does gasoline. So have a tank with the same size, but split it up. half gas, half water. Even though the water does weigh more than traditional gasoline or diesel fuel the weight loss of the radiator and coolant and hoses will likely negate any additional weight from using water, not to mention the speculation that the compression ratio can be raised to 12:1 or 13:1.

The J32 CLS engine has a compresion ratio of I think a bit less than 11:1, and it's making 260 hp on fuel only, if it could be bumped up to 13:1 safely(little to no detonation or timing retard) I would venture to guess it would make roughly 320 hp, and that is just staying fuel only.

If a multiple cylinder engine were developed think of the power it could produce. With the 6 stroke setup it has the potential to be making power from multiple cylinders at once (one combustin gas or diesel fuel, and another being driven by the steam power.

With the ability to create poer from multiple cylinders it would also be possible to reduce teh speed at which an engine would need to be running. If you could offset the steam power in one cylinder to be done shortly after the fuel combustion of another cylinder you would be able to create continuous power without having to run the engine so fast. It would be like turning a 6 cylinder engine into a 12 cylender because each chamber woudl create power twice.

If there are no big downsides to these 6 cycle engines, I forsee them replacing current fuel inection and/or diesel engines in the future, just as current engines have replaced previous steam only, or carbeurated engines.
