Should I trade the G in for a TESLA? *PICS*

Went for a ride in my buddy's Tesla today. All I have to say is impressive! I have never felt so much smooth power in my life. Between how quiet it is, smooth, and torquey, this golf cart on steroids was a thrill to be in.

For $160k, I could've thought of 5 other cars to buy but hey, it's pretty rare and unique in itself

Teslas are cool; it will be interesting to see how durable they are in the long-run.

Not sure either but they are very low mainenance from what I hear. No oil changing. Just plug in, charge up and go!

Lots of advantages to dropping the internal combustion engine. I suspect (but don't know), however, that the repairs to an electric motor like the Tesla's could be VERY costly; if it can even be repaired economically. Either way, it's a technological marvel and huge step forward for the electric automobile.

ETA: I'd love to drive one some time.

It's an impressive thing for sure. I would like to have one, only if it's not ridiculously priced in the future.

Look into the Model S. If you want a sedan. Looks impressive.

Tesla's remind me a lot of the lotus. If it were me to make a decision, exige > any tesla.

This thing definately grabs attention of others. Love how low you sit to the group. Definately not pothole friendly. LOL

I heard about that. Whether the actual back seats will be functional, I wonder if they will stretch the car out a bit?

It looks cool and all but there are quite a few cars I would buy for under 150 before Id buy one of these.

are you talking about the 6th and 7th seat?? Cause I think thats going for an optional 7 seats. So with that I'm guessing the regular back seats will be fine. I know my uncle already has a deposit for the car.

I heard about the optional seats, but where do they go? The Model S looked like a traditional sedan from what I remember.

I'd be worried about the lifespan of the batteries. I haven't perused their literature, so I don't know what they claim.

If having the money for both, Tesla all the way for me. The lines are much more appealing IMO. Not to mention I see Lotus's all the time around me. Never any Tesla's.

I enjoyed test driving the tesla . It took a while to no gears and it felt as if the car was on rails. Amazing vehicle, I just can't justify the price! I say lotus all the way!

The company I work for has one of these for display etc. Great looking car but I agree about getting a Lotus instead. Unless you're loaded like that...

My uncle told me that there are two optional seats in the hatch part that face the back of the car

It looks nice and sure, it handles well, but the battery life and the restricted distance you're allowed to drives kills it for me.

Haha, was just kidding on the title. No way I could afford that and if I could, I can think of 5 other cars I'd want to buy for that $.

i drove a Tesla recently, its fast sure but it feels like a fast golf cart. I need sound. I need emotion. so I would never buy an electric car, unless its like for some practical purpose.

^Pretty much my thoughts as well. It's quick and smooth, but too smooth to be that quick and quiet. I don't know how to explain it other than being on one of those swings at a roller coaster park that's connected to elastic and throws you into the sky. The 0-60 is very fun though.

FWIW, I have to fill up my Elise after about 220 miles, in which at that point I have about 2 gallons left in the tank (10.6 gallon tank). Then again, I refill in a few minutes and keep on
