DSG GTI or a MS3. I'd lean towards the MS3 just for looks and handling.

New option: 2007 AV6 Sedan

Well, i was looking at the prices of still new 2007 model AV6 Sedans with the 6 speed.

They have them listed at around 271xx (the one or two available down here.)

It seems this is now within my price range. If I can get that price brought down a bit, I might go for it!

Now, I was reading about citigroup's blank check program where they offer to pay the car in full for you and once that happens you start paying them directly, so I can go into a dealership with alot more buying power than if I was to finance or lease.

How would I go about trying to negotiate a lower price? I've got little experience trying to haggle and I want to try and get the best deal I can for this thing if its still available.

Help guys! Thanks,
-Alex

I LOVE my Civic Si. Great handling plus a cool interior (with one of the best nav units available)....

I stick to my opinion, MS3 or GTI DSG.

I didnt take either on the highway so i didnt really get to see what the high end was like though I imagine both take off pretty quickly.

Off the bat, Edmunds shows a 'TMV' (What others are paying) of $25,769 for a 2007 Accord EX-L V6 sedan 6MT w/navi. (Ironically, that price is only $1k more than the TMV on a 4 cylinder EX-L 5MT w/navi.)

If nothing just run the pricing through Edmunds, print it, circle the TMV and say 'gimmie!' to the dealer.

If it helps any, I just got the Mazdaspeed CAI and Cat-back Exhaust installed in my MS3. The claims from Mazda were dead on: 25hp/32tq gains from it. Dyno'd at 275/287 last Saturday.

Will create a new thread with the dynos as soon as I get to a scanner.

So a CAI and Turbo-back or Cat-back exhaust on the GTI would yield similar results?

Head over to VW Vortex and ask around! I really have no idea.

I was going to make a deal to buy a non-navi si sedan for 22 OTD...not sure if that tells you anything as I cant remember how much more navi models are and im too lazy to look it up right now.

Thumbs up 4dr GTI Lease FTW!

Well, I went to a VW dealership today and test drove a 2dr GTI (they didnt have the 4dr on the lot) with the DSG.

You guys werent kidding about that tranny - it has seriously quick shifts for sure.

It looks like I can pick one up with the autobahn package, navi/ipod, DSG for about 350-360 a month with zero down as a 36 month/12k mi. a year lease.

The salesman told me if I put 2k down forward i could get that down below 350$/mo.

What do you guys think about that deal? If I decide to do it, I could seal a deal possibly before the month is over

I guess no GTI guys lurking around? I think I'll aim for $300/36mo , 15k mi. with about 2k/3k down.

Wish me luck guys - if I get this thing I'll be posting plenty of pics!

Great deal, but then again I don't know much about leasing. I got my base model 2 dr. DSG (DSG as the ONLY option) with the monster mats, and 0% APR for 36 months, for $22,000.

I would go for the Si, but I am biased. You'll have good reliability and low depreciation, and there is getting to be a lot of aftermarket support. I love this Taffy white one below (mugen_kid from www.8thcivic.com) . The black one is mine with HFP suspension. Feel free to ask me any questions.

^While I like the Si, I'd personally go for the R32. It's an amazing price/power/looks combo.
250hp V6+AWD is the only way to go!The GTi is nice as well. Good luck and keep us updated.

R32 is nice, but heavy I think close to 3500 lbs compared to the Si at 2800ish lbs. Here is my buddy's.

too funny man. I am too on 8th, same s/n. Ive been lurking the garage and intro forums for a bit and i was really interested in a long time in an fa5, black, kit, navi, and maybe hfp 18''s. But I recently saw the GTI again and said fuck it lol.

God know's im gonna hate logging into VW Vortex. That forum sucks the fuck out of George Bush's ass.

If the R32 had 4 doors, I'd be aiming for that instead. It's definitely a sweet ride - I saw a red one today at my dealer. It's smooth like butter.

There is a local tampa vw shop and the owner of that shop is the admin of the VWFIXX, very cool guy and will help anytime. I am going tell u right now, u did not make mistake by buying a MK5 they are better than Si. The Gti came already with the turbo, if u want faster then take off the stock turbo and upgrade ur gti. Only thing that sucks is DSG can only reach up to 300-350 hps on the stock internals. Good luck and i hope u enjoy ur gti, of course i know i did.

The R32? I think they may have the 4dr R32 in europe, but here in the US I believe its only 2 dr.
