shipping a car cross country
#3
I shipped a car from Maryland to Texas. Depending on how much you like the car being shipped you need to check on a few things. The company I used never took the car off the hauler once it was loaded in Maryland. Some companies will take your car off and put it on another truck to get it where it's going. The more the car is moved the better the chance of being scratched or dented. Check to see if the hauler is an open or enclosed trailer.
If you use an enclosed trailer that will not take your car off until it reaches your destination it will be more expensive. The company I used in 2000 is no longer around but they charged me $750.

When I sold my TL a couple of years ago the buyer was in California (I am in NC). He used Dependable Auto Shippers and from what i know, had zero problems. I think it cost him around $700 and took about a week to ship.

yeah they do, and the shippers are also pretty strict about what you have in the car when they take possession of it. the people we were gonna use didn't want anymore than a 100 extra pounds and less than a 1/4 tank of gas.
