Shame on Mercedes

mmmmmm....
Erm....pardon me 'gents but I think those might be the turn signals. Not sure why they'd be white in the photo (thought the law for front turn signals was amber) but I don't really see any other place they could be. There certainly isn't room on the edges.....
Just an observation.

now one area where I'd really like MB to copy Audi is interior design.
The new CL's interior is no doubt plush with all the leather wrapped surfaces, but this is just ugly.

The reason it's ugly is because of the wood trim on the lower part of the steering wheel. Looks extremely luxurious and pure otherwise- what Mercedes-Benz is know for. Audi's interiors are more modern/sport-oriented, IMO. And then BMW falls somewhere between.

I agree it is copycat, but I'm all for LEDs in headlights and taillights. I hope Acura catches on soon. They still can't seem to figure out the tailights...half of their products have LED taillights (TL, RL, MDX) and half don't (TSX, RDX, ZDX). WTF Acura?
Besides, MB was first (I believe) with the side mirror turn signals, now a lot of cars are doing it too.

I also belong to a Infiniti FX forum and we have a bunch of European members there.... to my understanding, I guess they've passed some kinda of law where by a certain (model) year, ALL cars in Europe are suppose to have LED lights (I guess for safety reasons), kinda like how at one time a lot cars here in America had day time running lights? I guess it's the reason why it seems like everyone's jumping on the band wagon

Manufacturers "borrow" styling cues from each other all of the time. I personally do not have a problem with this...
I'd say shame on the American public for buying cars which all look very similar to each other. Instead of supporting the companies with unique designs, they're fine with each manufacturer creating vehicles which are similar to one and other...

LEDs in headlights work on Audi cars, that's about it, imo.

^ that's nothing new with Honda/Acura. Integra went from having projector headlights to halogen headlights when the RDX replaced it. ZDX, their formal entry into tier 1 territory, does not come with LED rear lights. But the MDX does, and they share the same platform.
It's this type of mismanagement that's preventing Acura from even catching up with the other luxury players. someone should be overseeing that all their vehicles have some kind of continuity.
But to be fair, LED taillights are an option on the Mercedes M Class! I didn't know they came with those until I saw one the other day and I thought it was a refreshed model. but a quick look on the MB website shows the LED package as an option.

Yeah, paying for a luxury brand car should include that type of thing. I also think that cars, especially luxury brand cars, should start using glass again for the headlamp housings. This crystal plastic crap is low budget. It works, but glass would be much more durable and would exude quality.

If MB, BMW, or Audi made everything standard the cars would all be 10-15k more expensive. MB sales were up 13% last month I'd say they know what they're doing.
Having everything standard w/Acura sure hasn't helped them has it? They even make a mooch model RDX 2WD because they realize most people only care about the starting price.

I thought the same but that was because most of the time I'd see them from the front they were turning, and if they have the turn signal on the LED strip turns off and blinks with the turn signal.

This is a serious question, but were you looking at the Audi straight-on? Because their LEDs are set in somehow and play weird tricks when you look at them from the side. I can see how one would think one side is burnt out when they don't see the car from straight ahead. LEDs have a relatively low failure rate.
