Seriously Thinking About Selling my car
For a Civic or a tC.....am I nuts? I recently learned to drive stick and I LOVE IT! My car seems really boring compared to my dad's Mini Cooper w/ 6MT.....do you think I'd be stupid to trade to an economy-like car? Are there any financial ramifications you can think of that I don't see? I figure if I can get 15k for my pristine CLS.....I'd be right around where I needed to be........

Don't do it! You'll probably get bored of either one of those cars faster than you got bored of the CL. Unless you start modding the Civic heavily....engine swap, turbo, etc. I'd think it over a bit longer if I were you. I wouldn't downgrade. I thought about it before too in order to save some cash, but I just couldn't do it.

on to the next one...
Are you set on getting a NEW car to replace your CL and not spending any more $$?? If that is the case, I would definately reconsider. I heard the 6 speed RSX-S are mad fast, with a few mods, those could be a ton of fun.
I do know what you are saying though. I sometimes miss my old 5 speed, but then I remember than it was an ESCORT and find instant satisfaction in my auto CL-S.
If you are thinking of getting an econo car, they ARE as slow as they sound manual or not, mods or not, there just isn't much you can do to make them fast.
Stick with the CL and be happy you can merge onto the freeway without worry.

One of the main reasons why I got rid of my CL was to get a car with a manual transmission. At the time I bought the CL, I wanted a manual tranny, but I figured that 260hp would make me forget, but after a year and a half, I had to make the switch.
I'll never go back to Auto unless I have a beater car for commuting

If you do it, you will (most likely) slap yourself later. The refinement in our cars is easily missed. But don't take my word for it, go ahead and try for yourself. I felt so spoiled when I had to drive around an 01 Celica for two weeks... it just felt so... economy. Handled real well but I felt like I was in a go kart as opposed to an airplane. I know that analogy needs work but it gets the point across (I hope).

i think everyone on here is going to give you similar responses. you will immediately miss the seat heaters, tilting mirror, memory seats, dimming rear-view, blah blah, blah blah... but you will really miss the seats. everyone that sits in my car tells me how much they love the seats. i say wait til you can afford something similar to the cl, with a manual.
