SAW the NISSAN Z and G35 coupe today 9/14/02
Well, For the past couple of days, I've been torlling around on the freshalloy forums, tracking down the production Z model making its rounds around the midwest Infiniti dealerships. I head it would be a fields infiniti in glenview this morning as from 12 noon, so I headed out around 1pm to check it out! Upon arrival, there it was, a silver G35, complete with the brembo brakes! The Di(ks were not letting anyone drive it, but I sat in it for quite a while and checked the whole car out! within 20minutes a small crowd gathered and we were all inspecting the car. Then a Nissan Z drove by, and we all looked at it. It drove past and out of sight, and 10minitues later it came back and parked next to the G35 coupe! It was a silver touring model w/leather, pose, xenons, etc! The Z driver was cool as hell, and I then proceded to compare the two side by side. Here are my rough observations:
G35
pros:
-Lots of interior room for driver and passenger.
-exterior looked hot as hell, but the car needs lowering big time!
conskeep in mind, this was probably a pre production model)
- The interior is royaly cheap! I mean the dash boards had hard plastics galore!
- the back seats are not practical for those over 5'9"!!! I'm 6'2", and my head touched the rear window!! the rear slopes down way too sharply, and its just a really bad angle
-The trunk space is a JOKE!! only thin lap tops can fit in here folks!!
NISSAN Z touring
pros:
-the shape is just sexy!! the car looks hot from every angle! it looked better than the G! everyone crowded around it and abandoned the G, even the salesmen!
-THe interior is very well layed out! The interior seemed more upscale than the G!! The silver/titanium? trim was very well detailed
-the exhuast tips are larger, and the engine sounds more throutier!
-The car was lowered from the factory
cons:
- the inside is very small! I had almost no legroom even with the seat pushed way back!
-there is like no storage space in the vehicle.
after this experience, I fell in love with the Z! if only it had more interior room like the G!(legroom, shoulder room etc). I think that nissan is vrey dumb for releasing a car that IMHO is far better than the luxury model! but oh well! If you have any questions please ask, as I spent a full hour with both cars. thanks

My sister's looking for a car right now and I told her to wait at least till the g35 coupe comes out. You'll still cruise on this site, right? See ya

Long time no see/hear! How you been? I am expecting delivery this week! The car is already here at Tony Nissan, getting prepped.
I will still cruise this site, as it has been a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to share info on.
I would agree with you and wait to see what the G35C looks like, especially if she wants a 2+2 style.
Anyway, I will contact you once I get the car. PM me your number again. You too can get one if you want. They're selling them for MSRP at present time at Tony's. There are 6 Z's coming in this month.
