2005: it was standard since 2003, but I had to get ESP on my 3-series. See my avatar for explanation.

** Fast forward 2017 ** : now I will NEVER own a car without tire pressure actual read-out.

Tonight 5PM returning from work. BAM! Stopping 5 minutes later, I saw some pigeon shit on the side so I thought that a bird hit my car. Three hours later, my car tells me that I have less than 10 psi in the rear right tire, although visually there was nothing wrong.. So at home, I swapped it with one of my winter wheels. Found and removed a large piece of steel.

I wished that I had this luck in 2009. After 10 minutes on an urban highway, my BMW with no-RFT gave me a "yellow" tire signal. Didn't feel or look abnormal so I took the risk of getting to my work, 20 minutes more. A so sorry outcome, with no place to go, no curb. It cost me a tire and a few hundreds more. Not counting the multi-hours aggravation.

I would have never done it with an actual read-out or RFT (which were unbearable at that time)... *Kudos to Acura for having made TPMS actual read-out standard.*
How about instead of blaming he Manufacturer for NOT having it show the actual PSI, you take responsibility and blame YOURSELF for not actually testing the PSI with a tire pressure gauge. LIKE YOU SHOULD. The car gave you a warning that something needs to be attended to, YOU chose not to take the proper action.

Do you do the same with your food? Open grill, look at chicken, yep looks done. Cuts into it still pink in side and says, oh it must be the BBQ sauce. Gets sick then complains that the Grill should have come with an actual temp readout of inside of food??

First thing I thought of. I periodically check all of our air pressures with my gauge to make sure all is well. Takes a few minutes and is something I've been doing since I've been driving. Same thing with oil level...

Well when you're a senior like Saintor, it gets hard to bend down 4 times and hold a pressure gauge to each tire for 5 seconds.

Hmmm, I'm a senior (and a fair bit older than Saintor) and have no problem using a pressure gauge. Maybe Saintor needs to start doing some exercises.

I'm not that much older than Saintor and I rotated the tires on my daughter's car yesterday. Oh and by the way - in addition to doing the rotation - I checked the tire pressures!!!

You (and others) may call it bitching... but we generally refer to it as trolling...

Since this isn't his first offense of trolling (I've actually lost count ...).. maybe it's time for him to get a permanent vacation?

Whatever, Tyler. You just drive an Audi. Saintor owned an Audi back in 1986, so he knows everything about Audi, past, present and future. He said so himself. And your 2.7turbo, er, 2.7toy (as he likes to call them) is nothing compared to his superior TLX that has a perfectly awesome and lightning fast shifting transmission.

I think the system function error is related to you moving 0 mph (46km/h).

if you were moving 87mph (26 km/h), there would be no issue. Just be careful. DO NOT hit 88mph (392 km/h) or some freaky shit will happen.
