I could have 10 homes yet I will always still be considered living with the parents on the internet. Sheesh, im not about to explain about my place again. Search for it if you want.

Its a car forum so i wanted to share what car I picked up. The mazda3 is a great car and a bargain for the money. Thats all there really is to it.

Personally I dont see what i did that was so different than others. People have 335i who DD an Avalon and a person who has a 350z who DD an RL. Im sure there are more stories like that here. I dont understand why its hard to understand that I wanted a "beater" car that I can drive anywhere and not worry about it.

Anyways continue with the bashing. I said all i wanted.

You don't have to justify your purchase. Most of the people bashing you are driving a car you would consider a "beater." I always liked the 3, but I would have gone with the HB...

Don't worry...I understand your logic. At least you don't have to worry about the seats being stolen from the Mazda.

Your logic makes perfect sense Jesal, the responses are all emotionally driven- we all LOVE the S2k, and can't let go...

You bought a daily driver...that costs the same amount as the s2000.. and will depreciate much faster. I'm missing the logic. If you were looking to save money and have a "beater" why didn't you just drop a few grand on an older civic?

Anyways..congrats- i guess.

remember, he also said he wanted a car that's less of an attention-grabber than the s2k.

and if he could afford the mazda3, why would he want to drop a few grand on an older civic?

My girlfriend has one of these cars and i get to drive it frequently. The Mazda 3 is a perfect choice for a daily driver/commuter

Few grand on a civic? Come on now.. im way too snobby for that. I still wanted a decent car to drive everyday, not a shit box.

Well, the Mazda 3 is a terrific daily driver...My fiancee currently owns one and it is often the vehicle of choice when it comes to running errands and related around town.

That being said, I just do not have the single-most clue why a 335i needs to be protected from daily driving...It's not a supercar or even close to that tier. It's just merely a dime-a-dozen sporty coupe that I see every 3-5 times each day. Wait...it's about 10-15 times since I'm working out of Vancouver these days.

So, not really sure why you'd pump in the $ in the first place to get the Mazda 3.

For the cost of buying this "DD" as you would call it (which IMO you ALREADY own a DD in the 335), why don't you put that into something that appreciates and earns you money...like...property?

What other cars did you check out --- Mazda 3, Sonata....any others?

I think you'll have a lot of fun with the 3, as long as you have appropriate expectations, seeing as you're coming from a background of higher end cars.

Keep us updated! on your next car purchase...what'd they vote on....six months from now!?

We've got lots of...err..."deals"? going on here. Costs still aren't equivalent with U.S. pricing, but a lot of 0% financing rates at the moment (Mazda included).

FYI you need a special tool in order to remove the factory oil filter. At least I did on my ex's '04 5-door.

Thanks to all my financial advisors on AZ, I will no longer post updates about the cars I buy on a CAR FORUM.

Its funny how no one said a word when I bought the S2k which was actually costing me MORE to own than the Mazda3. Even though money wasnt really the issue about me dumping it.

Hate me cuz you aint me

Holy crap you drama queen.

Tl - had for a year didnt like it, sold
330 - Would have kept it longer but totaled it
A4 - Had it for almost 4 years
335i - Almost a year with no signs of selling.
S2k - sold within two months and in those two months of ownership, i kept bringing up on how i wanted to sell it. Not shocking that i actually did.

Thats it.

If he drives around in a Mazda 3 most of the time, the driving in the 335 will be that much better

In not sure if I made it clear. My 335 will be driven daily but I will be traveling more out of state for work. Therefore I needed 4 doors when I see clients. Showing up on a modded two door won't cut it. Sigh forget it.

I understand where you are coming from. My plan was to sell my 06 TL when I got the 335. I then realized the 335 would just draw too much attention and I just couldn't put 20k a year on it. I have to park it overnight in some exposed places. So I figured I would have to get a beater. But, I would need a reliable beater. I can't be late to a ship because of mechanical problems. I have to drive at least 60 miles each way , often in the middle of the night. When I started doing the math on what a beater would cost and what I owe on the TL. I figured I would keep the TL for not that much more $. SO now I have two gray cars w/black interior in my driveway LOL.
I'm gonna suck it up and pay off the TL. It's gonna hurt to write that check but the pain will go away in a couple of months. Next winter I may look at replacing the 335 w/ an M3. This is one of the reasons I bought my 335 used.

Old 6series is still around but been having issues here and there. Its expected with an old car so its far from a reliable car that i can take on 500+ mile trips. I want to dump that car when i get a chance but its not worth much at all.

Would love a mazdaspeed3 but couldnt find one for under 18k

All the guys I know w/ ms3's and 6's have small issues, but most are easily taken care of under warranty. One guy had his fuel rail go, which sucked. Most of the have modded the snot out of their cars though. I like the regular 3's, my brother in law has one, it's a good dd.

Other than a TSB on my clutch not one issue to report at 21k miles.

Been a great fast fun car!
