The RX300 needed a LOT...

...so mom got an MDX!!!

It's a Polished Metal 2012 with the Tech Package and so far, she loves it! It's dark now and it just started raining so I'll get pics tomorrow.

Sweet! I'm so used to seeing posts where people are trading from Acura to another manufacturer, that this is somewhat rare, on an Acura forum no less

Doesn't like the looks, the inside or the plethora of rattle complaints I've found online.

This is one area where Acura got it right. Going from an RX300 to a 12 MDX is big leap.

We have an 09 MDX base which we're leasing and (unless I can pull off a superb deal on a new X5 3.5) we plan on swapping into a 12 MDX Tech/Ent pkg.

Sweet. My wife and I actually test drove a pre-owned RX300 before getting our X3. It was the "Pebble Beach Edition" (whatever). I was pretty underwhelmed by the RX. That was too bad too because I really wanted to like it.

Agreed. I would much rather have the MDX compared to the RX.

If it's dry tomorrow, pics WILL come.

I understand (well, the weather there, not really), just messing with ya.

Not sure how you can deal with being a detailer and living there. I get my underwear in a bunch when the forecast calls for any rain after I clean my car.

I wonder that myself sometimes. I've had my car two and a half weeks and I've been able to wash it once. Hoping to get a clean in tomorrow.

Thanks for the patience, everyone. The sun came out just as it got ready to go down so I put on my best and she let me drive it up the road to snap these pics. Haven't had a chance to wash it and the weather has flat-out sucked so apologies that it's not very clean.

It's a very big car but it's so smooth. I'm hoping we might go to the beach in it when the weather warms up a bit. She's getting the roof and cross rails put on this Thursday as well as the 3M Paint Protection Film.

Same here! TL and RL are both gone.

Nope, both are gone. Down to the TSX wagon and the CR-Z. But now I have room for an S2K...

Sweet ride! Get the roof rails in silver. My parents might get one to replace our aging Odyssey.

Your dad still has the RL right?

Yep. Had it five years and he's only got 46k on it. The man doesn't drive except to work and back and the occasional trip to Seattle.

I drive this same MDX for work at least couple times per week. It's a sweet SUV. I always punch it whenever entering the freeway on-ramp, and it does feel great. Considering how heavy and fat this car is, it's not that slow.

And it's pretty cute that the MID shows where the SH AWD is putting down the power.

Congrats to your mom! Nice photos!

Mind me asking the meaning of the plates? I'm always curious when I see custom plates on the road
