What I'm confused about is all that talk about how great it is not having a car payment each month since our cars are paid off. You've been my support system on that reason for not getting a Scat Pack or V and now you go all baller and have some ungodly monthly payment. What the hell dude? I mean, I'm really happy for you and all, but I feel like you've just cheated on me with one of the Real Housewives of Orange County and I'm stuck with a Real Crackwives of Metro Dade and sh*t, bro.

You know, for having a wagon buddy now, I'd think you'd be a tiny bit more excited.
You both can talk about how many strollers and diaper boxes you can fit in the back. If that isn't excitement...

3M Crystalline! Expensive but worth every penny! Especially for areas like yours, LA and AZ...

Damn you lasted less than me. At least to the point of getting something installed.
If you find you want something brighter there are these. They are insane bright. Light up the entire ground behind you as well. Also when you put up the tailgate a bit you can use them as work lights. 18 LEDs per housing.
CTS-V Wagon Custom LED License Plate Lights!!!

Thanks man...I may go that route, looks like it disperses the light really well.
Wait... what? How did I miss this thread?
Shiiiiiet... 3GR is full of new whips these days... and none of them are Acuras (although the Accord Sport is getting close... :tongue)
Congrats Rockstar!
If I can make one recommendation that I learned from my Miata... get some 3M put on the lower portion of the car. My Miata looked like it was sand blasted from the slightly wider wheels... and don't lie... you'll have this thing on new wheels in no time.

1) Car payment
2) Black car
3) Automatic
Honestly, man...it felt good to have no car payment but at the end of the day, a car payment isn't the difference between my kid eating steak or ramen ( ramen!) so for a car guy, to have only experienced one brand and two cars over the last decade almost...it felt like it was time to give something else a shot. Helps that it was a killer deal...and that I knew if I decided it wasn't for me, I could have scratched an itch and also get out of it unscathed financially. It also helps that I set my sights on it a LONG time ago...wagon specifically as it helped satisfy my desire for a hatch/wagon for versatility and cargo...plus forced induction from factory (the only way I'll do it)...plus replacement for displacement for a placemat...plus, caddy comfort and good luxury vehicle that didn't feel like a mini van for my family of 3 with 3 dogs. So, it hurts...but it doesn't hurt that much...if things get tight, I'll bail on it...when I sell the blue TL I'll refi what I financed and get the payment down to what one might pay on a mid grade civic I knew the deal was good, I got a good read off the seller and had Majofo pumping me from the back (pushing me to purchase...don't get the wrong idea fellas).
Black...hey, it was a good deal...and to be honest...I kinda missed having a black car. I'm one that doesn't mind putting in the sweat equity into making the car look good and nothing gives you satisfaction like black. Blue is gorgeous...I'd love Opulent blue...but I ain't paying what an opulent wagon will go for once one of our favorite mods decides to sell it...IF he ever does.
Non recaro seats are super comfortable actually...I didn't struggle much with "settling" on that...auto I had a tough time with but to be honest...it's been a long time coming that I have felt like I would love auto for traffic around town, picking up the kid, grocery runs. I don't need to be all zoom zoom vtec in every vehicle I drive. SO I'm very happy...plus, when you punch the beast and she bucks back, better have both hands on the saddle or you ain't lastin 8 seconds.
6 months ago I looked...about 50 wagons...
I look now...about 25...and prices have gone UP. We're talking NATIONWIDE. So I'm like, eff you supply and demand.
I'm reasonably frugal.
You actually get the trophy for that...you cool AF mr gadget.
Keep discovering cool stuff...damn headlights are so pretty...love the led lit tubes.

For the Tintz, you can go light on Crystalline and it will block something like 95% of the heat... not just a marketing thing, i have personally verified the difference.

Meh. A station wagon.
My friend had a CTS-V coupe. It was terrible inside from a practicality standpoint, especially the "back seats." But when he was dropping the hammer... in Mexico... I couldn't keep up in the 911 at all. And my 911 is modded and can keep up with a 458. The CTS-V is something else. I'm sure on a track the 458 would be significantly quicker, but on the streets, the V's own the streets in terms of daily usable "passing" power.
Congratulations. My wife wants the V-Wagon too.

But not to Honda!
If I were single, I'd keep all the cars! But wife won't let me and if one of mine gotta go, it ain't gonna be the convertible 6MT sports car over the sedan that does the same thing the caddy does!
I don't mind the jewel lights, they're cool! But I don't want all that fancy stuff...gimme a big motor. Sit it on my face. Motorboat.

Thanks for sharing...I'm really really excited about it.
I won't be ditching magneride, which is why I'm going springs only...but supposedly these things can go around a track pretty well too...shoot, 2009 the sedan set the record at the Nurburgcockring.

So I did some reading into the magneride suspension on your car... to be honest, I really didn't know much about it before doing so- as stupid as it sounds, I didn't know the suspension was similar to that of a normal strut, in that it relies on a spring (themoreyouknow). That being said, is there any concern of blowing the magneride shocks if you add in lowering springs?
While it will obviously make the car look good, replacing those shocks must be a fortune if they start leaking.

Yeah...
well, here's the thing about technology...
Coils are like $2300...PLUS you need a $500 module to fool the car into thinking magneride is okay so the car doesn't go into limp mode.
That said...eibach prokits are pretty tried and true and supposedly still maintain the feel difference between sport and tour and give approx a 1" drop.
I *may* start with just spacers and see if I'm happy with that. I feel like as a wagon, you can get away with a little less "low" and still have it look pretty aggressive.

I wouldn't get coils.. Magneride is way better.. Just that if the magneride shocks start shitting the bed, you'll be paying more than $2300 to replace them. I wonder if you can find them on rockauto for a good price.

Front magneride shocks are $370 each and rears are $240 each right now. So you can basically replace the magneride twice for the cost of KW3 coils for the V.

Okay, absolutely NO modding lasted a day...
PM to Junior'sBean, an order for wiper inserts, new front fascia lower bumper thingy later...
and some sweet LED's that match the reverse LED for the license plate area...they needed the upgrade and I'd already found some high end ones for the blue TL's that came in a set of 10. Had 6 left.

I posted this in JB's thread a while back, I'm sure you'll find it useful
JB.. a few things, research exhaust options. It's soooo quiet.
2nd.. the performance settings on the V are ambiguous and the owner's manual doesn't mention much other than how to flip the switches. The V as well as many GM vehicles have traction control as well as stabilitrak (think ESP). The TC button the steering wheel controls both:
Default: Both on
Hit button once: TC off, Stabilitrak on
Hit button twice: TC off, Stabilitrak in Competitive Mode
Hold down button for several seconds: TC off, Stabilitrak off
Turning TC off lets you spin the wheels more than usual (I spin the wheels with everything on in first, second, and third).
Stabilitrak competitive mode is a toned down version. Gives you a little more lateral play / yaw before taking over. Steering effort is also increased to give you tighter control.
Everything off.. clench your butt and hold on. -burnout mode
There is also a sport suspension setting (shock button on center stack) stiffens up the suspension. You may not notice a huge difference. I noticed it right away because my commute covers some pretty rough roads. The suspension is already pretty firm. I think this setting not only stiffens it up but has quicker inputs from the suspension mgmt side of the pcm.

If Dear Meat,
Is Jeremy...then I doubt Lon will only be off by one letter in pronouncing "loud"
Thanks for that post, Maj. I will fux with it...today was the first time I dropped it into sport mode and didn't manually shift. Hit 1st, lit those michelins up pretty fucking good. Must be a pleasure for others to get to experience the badassery.
Damn, are your pedals an upgrade? Mine are just black rubber...
Also, you love the alcantara? I don't mind the leather...$200 bucks I don't have to spend for now I guess.
Sam, no errors...I just ordered 2 sets of those crazy bright led boards because in taking some pics I could tell the ones I used make some hot spots of light on the plate. Fuck it...for me and Betty. Thanks a bunch Jason...I'll send you my paypal invoice for all the money you make me spend.
