hey, in my defense, it's a TINY wagon!

okay...@johnny...yakima support got back to me and said the other rack is the same shit...but they said you can turn it around, and kinda a funny sarcastic don't worry about the bike facing the wrong way...a lot of people do that.

Rockstar: your shit too long and won't fit in my wagon
Yakima Support: "it's FINEEEEEE"

I wonder if other companies' products will fit better.

I looked at Thule too...but looks like they are much more pricey and require some sort of adapter...

You know there is a center channel to our rack? Do none of these bike mounts work without using those clamp on adapters instead of the center slot?

also, I need to figure this out but if it's the yakima or thule mount that fits the wagon, then the racks...that's like $800 in parts right there
Soooo...I might just make this yakima work...
we'll see...it doesn't look and feel really bulky although it's robust enough for the big bikes.

learn how to park!
LOL...
I can count on one hand how many times I've curbed a wheel since getting a car with rims.
The heartbreak is just too much.

This is what I am refering to. The T channel in the middle of the bars. You can remove the ends and remove the rubber insert. Then a lot of things that come with things you mount to the bars come with blocks that slide into this channel so you can bolt things down to the bars.

That Wagon right there is one of my all time favorites. I think he has the bike racks on backwords based on the pictures but still managed to put the bikes on forward with that type of mount.

Those wheels definitely look good on a V wagon and I typically hate 5 spoke wheels. The rear concave is so nice.

holy shiet...
mount backward...turn bike around since it doesn't hold it by the downtube...
good catch, Jason!
I will try that.

A little more digging and that is not mounted backwards at all so I wouldn't try it. It is the Thule Sidearm 594XT and it appears it is designed to sit further forward on the rack from the start. I think it should work perfectly for the wagon so you might have to suck up the price if you want to be able to put the hatch up. I think it would be worth it honestly.

but from what I've read those don't work with the oem bars!
I'd be GLAD to get those instead, especially while I can return the Yakima right now.

So I don't know if they make it for bike racks but here is the hardware that goes with my Yakima Fat Cat Ski and Snowboard mount.

well, I put the heaviest bike I own that I can take the baby on onto the rack...
I made it till the end of the block before realizing I'm not feeling very secure with how much it was wobbling...front bar has some bounce to it and it wobbles...now what happens at 80 mph when the clamps are all composite plastic.
I think I'm going to be sending this one back...might even remove the rails, although it can be versatile to have that.

That's a big bike.
Personally, I'm a fan of fork mounted racks. Toss the front wheel in the back or add a front wheel caddy. With a bike that tall.
