I've been considering picking up a set to run whenever I want to switch things up with the Koenigs and run them without center caps. Gold has been a color I've been considering.

Yeah, I'm interested.

Hmmm...well, they come from Asia and they take a while to get here...I will tell you that they have a slightly rose gold look to them rather than the bright anodized gold of the valve cap. I'm not positive on selling them yet...but if I do, I'll let you know first. It'll at least spare you the 6 weeks to receive them. They are basically a steel knockoff of the project MU.

Let me know. I've had my eye on a few eBay options, but if I do make a move then I'd definitely pick up yours.

Absolutely, man...very hard to find a set of lugs that are steel, and have color involved and are conical seat and 12 x 1.5!

Damn...I only paid $36 for them!
I think I'll hang onto them, Brandon...sorry man, I'd rather have a backup set to switch back and forth too for that little money.

I wasn't a fan of the lip kit at first, but with the wheels and everything tied together, it really looks good, much better than without.

It's one of those cars that has a few mods visible to the eye... but somehow you know the owner has put a lot more love into it that you can't see.

Busy day...couple of fused bolts kicked my ass...in the end, should have just removed the upper bolts instead of trying to get at the bracket. Luckily, I was able to get them to grab and go back in and I took a different approach.

This was to install the differential collars from exedium. Got a killer deal on them so I jumped...I will say that the rear end feels a lot more firm and planted now...there's no sloppy feeling anymore (note: I didn't really realize it was sloppy until now). It was wet out, so couldn't really test it out but I did go sideways around a corner and recovered very quickly...I kinda feel like it feels like when I added the progress sway bar on track setting on the TL. I'll need more seat time during my normal driving to know for sure though.

J.

I hate sloppy rear ends. Nice and tight is where it's at.

Nice work!

Thanks, Marcel!
Yeah, got that buttoned up and now I'm working on putting some other rotors on the front of the TL and the stocks on the back with some fresh cmax pads. Tired of the vibrations!

LOL...let's just say I'm glad that I ran out of ability to jack the back up any more before tearing the bumper from the fenders because I didn't realize how close to the ground the front was!

Okay, another productive evening in the hour before Betty got home.

Since using the Honda high temp Urea grease shut my TL's slave cylinder pushpin ball up finally so it didn't sound like a 90 year old woman on a rocking chair in my engine bay anymore...

I decided to see if the same would work on the S2000. It was every creakier than the TL and it worked like a charm. Silence, at last. Funny thing is it looks like the slave was changed, but not the ball pin. Where it sits in the fork had the dried dusty rusty looking residue and explains why it was so loud. Undid the 2 12MM bolts...slave comes right out, cleaned it all up, shin etsu on the rubber boot...then fill lube with molykote to preserve my honda grease...

Application on the S2000 is slightly different as the entire ball pin comes out and you need the high temp dark urea honda grease on both ends...just lubed the shaft with the moly (giggle)...hardest part was getting the rubber protective boot back in place but to clean the fork into the tranny and apply the grease, you really need it out of the way. Manually push the pin in to line up the holes and ensure it's sitting in the fork groove...then bolt back up and you're done.

Took my time and took me about 30 minutes including jacking up the car.

Also managed to re-align the exhaust tubing to give some clearance from the rear differential...then I adjusted the trunk on my TL, as after getting it painted, it would normally stick and not pop open on the first try when sitting in the sun. All done.

Okay, drove the S today again...1, damn this car loves the slightly cooler temperatures in the mornings. 2, my impression of having lubed up the slave cylinder is MAN is that pedal/shift feel so much smoother now! In addition, those collars on the differential REALLY made a difference, I used to kind have to give it a second between gear shifts for it to feel perfectly smooth...now, it's smooth immediately and the car just feels more solid.

My impression is that it was money well spent and I would HIGHLY recommend those collars to anyone that owns an S2000.

Man, i wish i still had this level of dedication with my cars. I haven't made time to do anything on them in a very long time. I think i'm getting old or something. Anyways keep it up, all your tinkering keeps me motivated to get back in and mess around.

Love the new pics J.

You know, I was just scrolling by ebay and saw this S2k. At first glance looks like your garage, it's silver and it's also from FL..........Then I thought "Nahhh he loves his S too much to do this" lol

The Car Fax report will show two (2) accidents. I have the specifics if you would like them. One has been since I had the car. It required only a buffing of the rear bumper. The other was with the previous owner. There has never been major damage to the car. Airbags have never deployed, never any frame or motor work from accidents or anything along these lines. The reason I want to be clear about this is so that you are informed and that you are accurately informed!

So, it "buffed out" but was reported to carfax?

Brother, funny you mention it...Betty and I took the S today and made a Lowes run and ended up with 2 fans...wife wasn't pleased. I appeased her with the top up and AC going but then the exhaust is pretty loud. Day ended with her telling me that she doesn't get the appeal of that car at all...guess I'm doing something right although with the looming move to a 2 car garage and her wanting in eventually...I don't know how much longer I can keep the 2 car thing alive.

BUT, in the meantime, I have no plans to sell anything.

J.
