Labor probably sucks but
not too expensive for the price

I wonder if I have 2 evaporator cores in the car and that's why the front gets super cold when I run the rear blower motor.

Well, one night a couple of weeks ago I had a fun experience in the behemoth.
We load up the kayak...head down to Miami. I park in a restaurant and when I
go move the truck to a closer spot so the kayak is still on top of it when we get done
I hit the brakes and go halfway into the street almost taking out a lady walking.
If I press HARD I can get it to stop but needless to say getting it home is sketchy. I have
hydroboost for brake booster and that looks intact, nothing obvious although I did see
that the master eventually ended up empty. Upon inspection I see that the rear caliper is
almost completely off the disc and missing a piston. Turns out previous owner's mechanic
used antiseize grease instead of loctite that the slide pins call for. WTF...
Anyway, on the way out the piston hurt the back of the pad and it looked like they could be
changed and American parts are cheap so...$106 later I have a full set of Delco Ceramics
and a brand new Pro Delco Caliper...
Therapeutic work!

Damn that is sketchy. I know the feeling of having a GM truck with no breaks.

Holy shit, 10 months without an update!
Okay well...after some deliberation and the addition of the Jeep to the fleet...it was time to let her go.
We really always use the Ody to do family trips anyway...
I had it listed for a while and a close friend that needed something cash that he was familiar with
asked to take a look at it. He drove it and was in love...he has a Suburban he let get beyond repair
and a Northstar Cadillac pouring a quart of oil on his driveway daily...wife is in a shitbox Hyundai S4 Fastback
so she will get a new Santa Fe and he's happy with the Yukon.
Even with a little rust here and there...she cleaned up well. I wouldn't be surprised if I get back into one one day.
I love how cheap to fix and robust the platform is.
sent the heads that Wacker sent me in case it ends up with the head coolant issue...I saw no signs of that when I pulled valve covers
though.
2 keys and OG manual!
She was good to us...trip to Tenn and back...even to the Dragon!
OH well, I can't own them all forever. Plus, it helped a buddy out.
Kids are gonna KILL me...they loved that thing.

Our old '87 is still running strong. Old FI 350 on a 700R4 trans, long since retired from road duty & lives down at our ranch.
Was a fun truck to drive to school in HS when my first MB was in the shop.

I LOVE the torque and steering...don't even know why...but I did.
I enjoyed blasting down our street and bumpety bumping over speed bumps...
torque torque...
I'll miss that bitch, for real.
OH well...and 87 is awesome...I like those old ones.
