rockstar143's VAG pounding S4 & S5 thread
So, I left to Europe with an itch to find my next car.
I came back from Europe with a bigger itch to find my next car. After my decision to go with the Vagon last time, and the S4 being my top other choice...I knew it was only a matter of time before I ended up in one. What I didn't predict was that it would be a DSG and not a manual. After some soul searching and fallen through deals...I realized that getting Volcano red was at the top of my priority list...so much so that when one became available locally with a DSG and an attractive price, I decided that I'd see if I felt excited to drive it for myself. I figured if the Volvo and maybe the Yukon were to go, I would be left with 2 manual cars to drive and honestly, that's not a fun prospect when you have to navigate traffic or you're just not in the mood for it. I drove the DSG and I was very impressed. It is engaging and gives you enough of a sense of being in control that feels close to actually using your left foot...fucking car even rev matches upon downshifts...and your pedal input completely controls how the car behaves. On curvy roads with the supercharger whine...the thing is a little planted bullet. It doesn't have sport diff and I live in Florida so...yeah...who gives a shit. It does have the B&O sound system and Audi MMI Nav upgrade so it's enough tech to make me happy. It's the first time in a while that I've actually been giddy to go pick up a car. We took an uber and went out on date night right after to break it in. Previous owner was a nice guy...just didn't really keep up with keeping it clean. Which is my specialty. It has curbed wheels and paint needs some love but overall, it shows great and it's the color I absolutely love. I look forward to getting looking all pretty and sitting the way I like. |

AudiZine ftw!

Congrats!!! Love the color and once you clean it up it will "pop" even more......
|
Not an Avant, don't care :O
. . . . . Only kidding  Car looks great. Welcome back to Germany. |
Get an intake to make that blower scream.
|
came with a cts turbo intake. chipwerke pro and dash cam.
The only mods to the car. Unless you count a dirty engine bay and curbed wheels as a mod. :tomato: Thanks, boys... I knew that I'd eventually get the S4...I just wasn't sure what year or configuration. I was close to going for a B8 but am glad I got a B8.5...it does just look so much more modern and of course one of the things that stood out to me from my buddy's S5 a few years ago was that FAT bottom steering wheel :pervert: |
Congrats! Looks like another fun car!
|
The interior of the 8.5 is way better then the 8. The 8 is mostly plastic and creaks just from looking at it.
CTS parts are generally...crap. But it's just a filter on a stick so it really shouldn't matter. |
Thanks, T!
Morgan, I figured since I had a CTS...and it's a CTS TURBAAA intake... it was Illumati confirmed. :monocle: |

Congrats! B8.5 S4 is a beast! I miss our B8 Avant sometimes. Wish Audi USA would bring us some S4 Avant or even A6 Avant! Wife would get it right away.

The pineapple juice, well, you know. |
I've always loved the S4. Good buy!
Glad to see German-zine going strong in Car Talk!! :chuckle: |
Skeet Skeet, mofuckas!
Maj knew I was getting one for sure...he was close to me and my decision to get the Vagon to begin with so he knew it would be the next car I wanted. Thanks boys...I'm in love with it. Oem wheels are curbed badly, so I'm contemplating my options of either getting some aftermarkets, some take offs, or touching them up and just putting some decent tires on it for now. |
I didn't know costco owned an Audi as well

Costco has everything!
