Replacement for my '03 CL-S 6MT
 

It pains me but its time to replace my CL. I was wondering if any CL or TL owners have found replacements that they liked.

I'm thinking a manual 9th gen accord EX-L V6 coupe is pretty much the spiritual successor of my current car and is better in almost every way except for lack of a limited slip differential (Which I'm afraid I'll miss if I go for the Accord).

A 9G / 8G Accord 6MT Coupe would fit the bill nicely if you want something that's basically a lateral move.

Why not explore your other options? Something RWD / AWD? What's your price range?

I got rid of my CLS-6 for an S2000 - apples to oranges comparison and yes the S2000 makes for a horrible daily, but I had no regrets. Car was LOADS of fun and gave you more thrills than the CLS6 ever could, period.

Ideally my budget is 15k CAD but I'll go up to 17 or 18k if a really great opportunity comes up.

I'm also looking at G37 and Genesis 3.8 but there are few manual G37 in my area and I'm not sure if a Genesis well enough built.

German cars also look nice like audi A4, A5, S4, S5 or a BMW but I hear that repair and maintenance costs are absurd. The good thing about German cars is that they seem to have the largest selection of manuals

For the money, best bang for the buck will be a 07/08 TL Type S.

Find a good condition 6MT & I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I replaced my 01 CL-S with a 04 TL, then ditched the TL for a S2000. A 6-speed Type-S would be a great replacement!

I traded in my 2001 CL Type S for a 2008 G37 coupe. I couldn't have been happier. It was reliable, fast, had a decent exhaust note, and generally a nice car. It sold me on the brand, so much so that now have a Q60 Sport and sold my G to my friend who still drives it worry-free. You should absolute be able to find a used G37 in your price range. Try to find one that has not been modded though, of course. :2cents:

When I jumped from Acura I went to Audi and haven't looked back from the Germans since. You can easily find a pre-owned German that won't give you trouble if you stay newer than 2010. Then again the A4 and A6 I had were 2006 and 2009 respectively and they were both bulletproof. But newer is generally better with the Germans.

As mentioned above you also can't go wrong with a nice G37...

Agreed with JB, very happy with my C300 so far. Though, I went Acura, Honda, Ford, Mercedes, so it took me a little longer to get back to the Germans; since I sold my last Mercedes in 2005.

I agree with this also, just something about the way the German (in my case Audi) brands feel.
