Hmm updates.. It is a BLAST to drive. So far I have been keeping it on Sport+ most of the time unless I'm sitting in traffic.. LOVE the exhaust rumbling sound and the downshift sound. Even on Sport+, I'm still getting almost 100 miles/tank better than the TL .

As far as mods, if any.. they will be minimal. I think the car is just too perfect to warrant many mods. I was debating painting the calipers red... still not sure on that. And if, down the line, I need new wheels.. I might go with some forged aftermarket ones. Still up in the air though. But yea. I it . The wife does too, but she has driven it like only once since we got it

Didn't want to hijack 00TL-P3.2's thread, so per my last reply: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-tal.../#post16425611, I got the paperwork back:

VERIFIED CLIENT CONCERN. FOUND CEL ON AND ENGINE TO BE RUNNING ROUGH. C&D BATTERY CHARGER. PERFORMED SHORT TEST. FOUND FAULT CODE #P030600 (Combustion misfiring of cylinder 6 has been detected.) PERFORMED GUIDED TEST.

R&R CYL 6 SPARK PLUG. FOUND SPARK PLUG TO BE FUEL FOULED. PERFORMED CHECK FOR SPARK AT CYL 6 COIL PACK. FOUND SPARK AT CYL 6. PERFORMED ENGINE COMPRESSION TEST. R&R ALL 6 SPARK PLUGS. FOUND CYL 6 TO HAVE 0 COMPRESSION. AND ALL OTHER CYLINDERS TO HAVE ROUND 190PSI COMPRESSION. PERFORMED CYLINDER LEAK DOWN CHECK. PERFORMED DRAIN OF COOLANT. R&R ALL LOWER ENGINE PANELS. R&R FRONT INTER COOLER IN FRONT OF CRANK PULLEY TO GAIN ACCESS TO SPIN ENGINE OVER. PERFORMED CYL LEAK TEST OF CYL 6 AND FOUND 100% LEAKAGE INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. PERFORMED INSPECTION OF CYLINDER 6 USING LIGHT PROBE AND FOUND ONE INTAKE VALVE STUCK OPEN. C&D BATTERY GROUND. PERFORMED R&R OF LEFT VALVE COVER. R&R INJECTORS.

AS PER SHOP FOREMAN PERFORMED REPLACEMENT OF CYL 6 INTAKE VALVE SPRING. PERFORMED REPLACEMENT OF CYL 6 INJECTOR AS PRIMARY LOSS DUE TO COLLAPSED VALVE SPRING. R&R BOTH LEFT INTAKE AND EXHAUST CAMSHAFTS. AFTER REPLACEMENT OF CYL 6 INTAKE VALVE SPRING PERFORMED CYL LEAKAGE TEST AND FOUND 0% LEAKAGE AT 90PSI.

PERFORMED INSTALL IN REVERSE ORDER. REPLACED ALL NECESSARY BOLTS AND SEALS AS PER WIS. AFTER REINSTALL OF LEFT CYL HEAD COVER AND INJECTOR RAIL. PERFORMED COMPRESSION TEST TO VERIFY REPAIR AND FOUND 191 PSI COMPRESSION ON CYL 6. AFTER REPAIR FOUND NO FAULT CODES AND PERFORMED EXTENDED TEST DRIVE WITH NO FAULTS AT THIS TIME.

THE FOLLOWING WORK WAS RECOMMENDED BUT NOT PERFORMED - D150 DRAIN AND MEASURE OIL LEVEL. --->Their whole initial fuss was about the oil and they didn't even replace it!

So a dead intake valve spring. Is the M276 a non-interference engine? No piston damage from the open valve?

Glad you got it all resolved. And now, back to your regularly scheduled -ing.

Yeah, not 100% sure I'm reading that right. Valve spring collapsed, but intake valve stuck open? Shouldn't that valve be closed then?

Valve springs hold the valve closed, not open.

So if the spring collapsed I take it that it didn't break into pieces that got into the engine from reading that. Some scary shit could have happened if they did. Really bullshit they did not change your oil after all that since I assume this was all under warranty. I would bitch about it if it were me.

Yea so, after all that, I've been researching extended warranties (if they even do extended warranties on CPOs).

Was researching the MB forums as well as Google in general and one guy consistently came up as the go-to guy. So I emailed him and within an hour got back to me. $2069 for a 2 year CPO extended warranty with unlimited miles.

Great price and will definitely be purchasing this for peace of mind.

Extended warranty probably wouldn't be a bad idea ... I couldn't imagine forking over $$ for a new engine in one of those things.

Otherwise, as far as reliability is concerned, how has the car been?

Other than that one big headache, its been amazing. No issues whatsoever.

Sure, I can't rotate my wheels. so my tires get worn quicker, especially how I drive, but that is something I knew going into it.

I've been thinking about what to do when my CPO warranty runs out next June.
So far, my C has been great, apart from a few minor repairs.

I went to non-directional tires, so I could at least rotate L<>R. The OE Conti RFTs were shot in 12k miles.
