reducing bail amount for ticket?
Has anyone asked the court to reduce bail amount on a CVC 22349(a) (Speeding) infraction?
Basically, I was doing 86 in a 65.
According to page 15 of the 2008 Uniform Bail and Penalty Schedules for California courts, the speed of my infraction places me in tier 2: $266 + traffic school/court fees.
I want to ask the court to reduce my bail to tier 1: $146 + traffic school/court fees.
Any suggestions?
(I may choose to do a TBWD, but I want to seek other options right now...)

BTW, those "court fees" can be double or triple the amount of the fine due to various special assessments, so I'd check those too.
The traffic school fee is usually @ $25 (but if the ticket was in the OC, OC residents have to pay $44-48, IIRC-- I got a ticket in OC, but am a LA County resident and paid a lower traffic school amount )

One on the right for me
That is actually pretty low for that speed. My buddy got a ticket outside of Sac, 84 in a 65, and the ticket is 374 dollars.
Most judges are not willing to lower the bail amount. Good luck.

It's pretty ridiculous that the California Bail Schedule (Orange County follows the same schedule) is set at $266 but when you receive the ticket, they tack on "processing and court fees" that equate to $350+
Traffic school, according the state law, is not to exceed $24 as of this year. OC tacks on another $24 for "class processing" since residents are not eligible to take online traffic school.
Ugh... first ticket in like 6 years.

OP:
how old are you? if your in college point that out. go to the dmv and get a abstract of motor vehicles, bring that to court. if its a first offense they will lower the fine
