red light camera's

Do you guys have these camera's going up all over where you live? Seems like every light near me now has one. i think I read in 1 month alone just 1 camera made over $800,000. before 2009 I never got a ticket from a camera before. Since then i have gotten 3 tickets for this all over $100 each. The 3 tickets i got were for taking a right hand turn at a red light without coming to a complete stop. i hate how this is just done for money reasons. i have never blown thru a red light on purpose in my life, but after getting tickets for it it makes me wanna actually do it and be able to get my moneys worth heh. Also from driving for over 11 years I have only been pulled over and ticketed 2 times. Ive had more camera tickets in last 6 months than pull overs by cops in 11 years. Im gonna have to be really conscious of this now and count to 5 before i take a right on red from now on. Damn robbery imo.

Yeah they're all over the place. There was one out in Schaumburg by the mall that they ended up taking down because it was causing more harm than good. Just another money making scheme used by the city. Accidents actually rose in some areas where the cameras were installed.

No it is not, just abide by the law and you don't have to worry about getting fined. Very simple.

All laws aren't good laws, and all policies aren't good ones which is why they're forever changing and getting repealed. For instance the tinting ban in Chicago took forever to get lifted. If you've ever been to Chicago you'd know how hot it gets in the summer. Maybe not the constant heat experienced in Texas but nonetheless, heat that warrants having tints. Chicago is notorious for having laws in place that serve no purpose and is just another attempt for the city to make money.

Point is, there's a difference between blowing through a red light and pausing briefly at a stop light/sign before accelerating again when noone is around. Is it illegal? Yes. Should you be fined for it? No. Just like going 56mph in a 55 zone. Very simple

There is already a topic about cameras... and while it started out about speeding cameras in CA, it's evolved into a general camera chat.

https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/idea-using-cameras-%5B-ca%5D-ticket-speeders-gains-ground-761478/

Similar enough that there's no real need to have two...
