Question about Evos track numbers...

Ok im not that educated on turbos. But im reading road and track mag (i was bored) and it says it does 0-60 in 5.3sec and 13.9sec in the 1/4. Well with such a fast 0-60 time, wouldnt you think it could do better in the 1/4 since the turbo has more punch higher end? Or is it because of the torque that it can do 0-60 in 5.3?

the low 0-60 is because of the trq and the AWD. The 13.9 is a pathetic time.....who ever drove that thing didn't do it right. The time should be .5 seconds lower atleast. Shit nearly stock WRX can hit 13.9

Zapata...

Dude, you'd think you'd appreciate the fact that not EVERYTIME someone gets into a certain car, they're gunna run the BEST TIME possible for that car. Clearly tons of CL/TL owners have 1/4 mile times across the board.. from low 14's to low 15's.. mods and no mods.. ya think it's any different for the Lancer???

Trust me, those guys driving that car know a helluva lot more about getting top times outta that car than any pseudo-racers on THIS board... don't care how good of a drive "you" think you are.

of course There are so many factors but still.......you can't honestly believe the evo will pull only a 13.9....that is a CRAPPY time. Unless the weather was terrible, something wrong with the car etc., there is no excuse.

What i'm wondering is do they make any mention of the time and why it's so high?

Evos have power loss up high. An AWD 0-60 time isn't going to correlate with a similar 0-60 time on another car. Their power is coming out of the hole but after that they're comparable to most other cars with around that HP range that may be much heavier. If you ran a CLS and an EVO side by side from 80-120 I'm sure you'd be surprised at how well the CLS would hang.

I think at the track, it will do 13.5 to 13.7 on any given (good) day!

actually, the sti is a 6speed with VERY CLOSE ratios. you have to shift 3x just to get out to 60mph.
