Question about a 335 I saw for sale

My cousin is looking to buy an 07 335i sedan, and we found one for $19,995 with 33k miles. That sounds a bit low, and I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the car. It is a bit of a drive for us to go check it out, so any ideas what could be wrong (if anything), or if we call the dealership first what kind of questions to ask? here's the link:

Looks about right, I love those wheels. Simply ask, any accidents? Clean title, or rebuilt...as in accidents even any fender benders!

Just warranty it and boom, you're good to go.

Slow stock, intake and exhaust+tune=amazing.

That price seems too low for some reason...

alright, it will come down to the car fax... any 335 owners know what to inspect when we see the car? Any trouble spots in particular on the 07's?

they have slightly low resale b/c of all the problems (HPFP, injectors, wastegate rattles, turbo failure)

My instinct tells me because it's a 6MT they sell used for slightly less than 6AT.

Also agree with what others said on the HPFP, wastegate valves, an dcheck the oil cooler (I forgot when they upgraded the twin turbo motor oil coolers).

If your cousin really is interested in it, have them bring it to a BMW dealer for a PPO. If the dealer wont let you, walk away.

Doesnt seem that far off.

Small dealership
Its red (bad resale)
5 years old / no warranty

I would just check carfax and make sure it wasnt a buyback or lemon at one point. Also pull up the maintenance history on it. A BMW dealer should print it if you give them the VIN.

Besides that, it has sport package with a manual which isnt all that easy to find. Good luck!

Very nice! Congrats to your cousin man!

A stock one will not excite you much, but after couple bolt-ons and a tune will make it a complete beast. The current generation WRX/STi are no joke.

thanks! I can't wait til he takes delivery of it. The only downside (as his older cousin) is he's only 18, but he's a good kid with a good job (paying for it himself). Believe me I have been in his ear about not being stupid with a car with that much power. Youth and responsibility are a rarity to see together, I am just really hoping he doesn't get crazy. I will be encouraging trips to the track to open it up as we live right near raceway park in Englishtown, NJ.

oh and ill be back with pics as soon as he gets it.

Yes. You should take him to the track couple times. I heard people who track their cars every once in awhile tend not to do stupid things on public roads.

But really, tell him to take easy on it for like 6 months or more. Did he drive a manual car before?

He has a 94 ford ranger MT as a DD (he's working towards becoming an electrician, so it's a practical car to transport tools and what not) ... only like 75k miles on it too, but yes he drives manual now so it won't be too much of a transition for him. He did well on the test drive, no stalls, very minimal buck. He just needed to get used to the catch point of the clutch. I think he'll be smart out there, but as I said I will do my best to make sure he's smart out on the road.
