Small update:
For the first couple of weeks of owning the FX, the roads have been more or less clear of snow and etc. So, nothing really to test out in regards to its ability to drive in extreme weather. Then yesterday and today happened...
The city basically has had close to over a feet of snow in the last 48 hours with the storm at its peak all of yesterday. Towards Friday evening, I had recovered a bit from the H1N1 vaccine I got on Thursday and decided to keep my commitment to meet up with some friends for supper. And so, out my wife and I went...
I guess to sum it up: AWD + snow tires + extra clearance = zero issues. Simply, while other cars were struggling all along the roads yesterday, we were getting past them without the slightest issue. As I'm a first-time owner of an AWD vehicle and snow tires, I had to wonder how I lived all these years up here without either. It sure was weird not plowing the roads with the CL and the Versus kit...As the city is quite hilly towards the rivervalley, the FX had no problems climbing up or down the steep hills. Other vehicles (including a couple of pickups) had pulled over to the side and had their hazards on. I'm guessing it was because they did not have the proper tires. But, even the ones braving the slopes...they were fishtailing and spinning.
Anyhow, overall, we're very happy with the FX in some bad winter conditions. We got safely to the restaurant and then back home with no problems.
Let's see how I like it on Monday when I take out the Mazda3 for work...
One other note: Interesting fact between Infiniti Canada and Infiniti USA - accessories. So, given the things I carry in the boot of a car (i.e. snow brush, cargo net, umbrella, non-plastic grocery bags, first aid kit, and etc.), I would naturally want some sort of box to hold it all instead of having the items roll around. Well, guess what? The cargo organizer for the FX is NOT available in Canada. USA-only.
After calling around, I was able to contact Sewell Infiniti (down in Texas) to sell me the accessory without shipping that cost over $100USD. It had arrived and after putting it together, I was relatively happy with how it works perfectly with the cargo liner we had got (which Infiniti Canada does carry) and all the items I have.
There's a "yeah-but". We went to Costco and bought some groceries and other household items...and as Costco is apt to do, they give you a box to carry it all. Well...all those reports of a limited trunk for the FX? Yup. Big-time. With the organizer in place (and latched in), there was no room for the box of Costco stuff. It had to go in the backseat. So, yeah...definite yes on limited cargo space (esp. if the cargo organizer is in the back).

Zipit, LEGOlips.
But, yeah...looks like I'll just have to remove the cargo organizer if I'm off to buy alot of stuff (i.e. Costco runs)...

I put a cargo organizer in my trunk to hold all my car care stuff (2 buckets, tons of microfiber cloths, wash, wax, detail spray, wheel cleaner, glass cleaner.
I still have plenty of room for my car cover and lots of groceries

^ Groceries...fine. I mean, it's not THAT bad...we can fit stuff in the trunk with the organizer still in there.
Just not a large box. Let's not get this blown outta proportion here.

I was actually quite impressed last week. I had to take 3 people and a child to the airport, with 3 large suitcases and a medium one, at first, I was like... "...there's no f-ing way I'm gonna fit ALL the suitcases in the back"...but somehow I managed!

congrats on the new rides both Yummy and F23. Lovin that V8 huh? gotta say it's one sweet SUV, and so is the current MDX. Drove one a few times on a couple road trips, it's a good choice if you need a 7-passenger SUV.

Sidenote: As I got closer to home -- where it did not snow -- a new X5 M tore past me on I287 as though I was parked.

So far, so good. Except the cargo organizer taking up more trunk space than anticipated.
