It's funny cause you can get RWD from H/A... You just have to buy a S2000 or NSX to get it

this is especially true in areas that have no snow (LOS ANGELES)

I like RWD better in bad conditions, I feel more in control, everyone thinks i am crazy though. To me though, if you get on the gas in a FWD car in the snow, and try and turn, your going straight still, in a RWD car, you can still point yourself in the right direction. You let off the gas, the back end slides back into place. In a FWD car, you still slide. Granted you can spin yourself around, but really only if you get on it too much and try to. I am much more comfortable driving a RWD car/truck in the winter than I am with my own car. I'm comfortable either way though, people say cars suck in the snow but people just don't like the physics of it and they can't learn how to drive in it, it isn't their cars fault.

Also, understeer (what you are describing as "still going straight") is still a concern in RWD (and AWD for that matter), especially in icy conditions. If your tires don't have the traction to make the turn, you're not going to turn, period, regardless of what you do with the gas.
However, the oversteer that you are talking about with RWD in the snow is considered more dangerous. One of the reasons being that if you do hit something, it's much safer to do so straight on - you're more likely to walk away unharmed. Sliding in sideways (or backwards or spinning), you have a higher chance of injury due to rollover or side/rear impact.
I do agree that driver skill goes a long way. However, you also need the right equipment. For RWD, winter tires are a must in my opinion. Even for FWD and AWD, I would highly recommend them as well, but these formats tend to be a bit more forgiving.
