Potenza RE-11

Anyone running these? What kind of treadwear are you seeing?

I love the sticky, am afraid of them being 5k tires.

Funny enough that the more expensive models like yours wear out faster than the cheaper models. They are designed that way for better performance like F1 tires. The more sticky, the faster the wear. The less sticky, the longer life. I think Michelins are the only brand that come close to both worlds? Not sure.

brand isnt very indicative of tread wear. my girlfriend has these on her tiburon. they arent 5k tires by any means but they arent 30k tires either.

take a look at the hankook ventus evo v12 and the dunlop direzza star specs. maybe some potenza 760's

With a treadwear rating of 180 they ain't gonna last very long. Shave them shits and use em for autocross

This is why I only put all season tires on the TL, but good ones not crappy ones.

The Toyo Proxes R1R's look interesting and they are even softer at 140-AA-A.

Dunlop StarSpecs are an awesome tire and most S2000 guys get something like 10-15 K on the rears-has a stiff sidewall so need lower pressures if you autox or track
Hankook RS3 another traction winner-same to slightly less life-softer sidewalls so higher pressures when competing

Not running the RE-11 but I am running the RE050A and I have ~23K miles on them and I'll be lucky if I get to 30K. The RE-11 is slightly more agressive than the RE050A so go figure.

Hankook is a HIGHLY underrated tire. I would recommend them, The new R-S3 is a awesome tire.

and normally i figure you add two 00's to the end of the mileage rating and you get a VERY ROUGH estimate of the miles you might get out of the tires (and no way close to an exact science either, especially depending on how they are driven on)

there are still better tires out there though, BUT with what you pay for them though, they indeed are highly underrated
