Possible change of new car plans....

I am going to go test drive this next weekend when I go home for a buddys wedding. I previously posted about the next M3/current C6 but the CLK has always been one of my favorite cars and since this is currently being discounted $11,000, I might have to jump on it BIG TIME if its anything close to what I am looking for. (although I am not fond of the UGA colors

Awesome, obviously an 05........the dual exhaust setup looks great on the CLK 55 (much more aggressive than the 03-04 models).

A Mars Red 05 CLK55 coupe, that's a rare car. I would definitely drive that.

Won't see yourself coming and going in that ride.

$11k off is a great $, assuming its new.

It's new. (74 miles on her) I might be pushing my luck but I am going to try to knock maybe 1-2 more off. The sticker is around $74,*** and they are asking $63,***.

I really have no need for this car yet (really about a year away since I am still dealing with undergrad drivers) but the offer is too good to pass up. My bank account should know my decision come 4PM on 7/16 though.

Thanks.

How old is the guy that bought the CL65? Isn't he like 23 or so???

Outside of a professional athlete, it's amazing that someone could afford that car at his age while actually making it on his own. He gets the from me.

They definately started in 05, maybe he just got confused on the year. I see CL65's all over the place in NY (I saw 5 in one day last week), but CLK55's are not as common. I've still yet to see an SL65 though

Yea, I thought he got confused on the year too. I was going to say that if they did make them in 2003, I would go look for one the way they take a hit.

Thats crazy that there are so many in NY. I've seen 2 or 3 SL65's in Atlanta but I have yet to see a CL65. They are gorgeous cars but I personally don't think they are worth the $50,000+ difference over the 55's.

I assume you'd be trading in the 'hoe?

I'd be afraid to park that around a college campus

I love how all of the guys looking for a new car...if its a Benzino...It MUST end in AMG. Love the car Not a fan of the color, I personally think you should only buy a Benz in Designo Black. Good luck with the car

The Tahoe is completely paid for (traded in the C32 for it) and I would probably still drive the Tahoe everyday until I graduated. My problem with that is I would keep the car at my parents house in GA because I don't have a garage here and some punk would mess with it the moment I brought it down here.

If I were to end up buying this, I would go ahead and pay 12-14 months off the finance and leave it in GA. It's a strange situation but I doubt if I will be able to find a car like this for the $$$ again.

However, if I end up not liking it then I don't have anything to really worry about.

Keyless Go, Parktronic, Bi-Xenon. Basically loaded except for no navi. (which is fine because I still have my Rand-McNally Road Atlas )

The new 2006 500's with AMG package look awesome. They look just like the 2003-2004 CLK55's.

I've never seen one on the road, and this is the first time I've seen a CLK in red on the 'net...

Looks fantastic in red

I drive a SMR CL, so I'm partial to red...

Designo mocha black is nice, but its a little too understated and you'll never get your $ back on that option.

Mars red in person looks great on any Benz with the AMG package.

The CLK, SLK, and C class don't have the Kompressor badging because they are NA.

The old C32 had it. (V6 kompressor)

Thanks for the input everyone. If I end up buying it, I will post some pictures Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Sure its not a CL55??? Mercedes didn't start producing the 65 in the USA until MY2005.

Could be wrong though....it's happened before.

I've always thought that car looked "cheap". The engine is sweet, but I don't think it's worth 70k+..........but for the price of a loaded M3, GO FOR IT

Thats what I agree with. I have always liked the car but not for $75,000. But now that it is around M3 land, I figure a little look wouldn't hurt too much.

Cob3683,

I am looking at the CLK MB line as well. Did you end up buying this and if you did, what are your thoughts on the car? Thanks.
