Porsche World Road Show - Results/PICS!
Anyone get an invite? It's by registration only....You can get one from your local Porsche dealer if they have any registration certificates left. A friend of mine told me about it, I called my local dealer, he told me that he has to see if he has any extra certificates and I had to wait. The next day I get an e-mail from Porsche inviting me to participate. I asked if he signed me up, but told him I got an e-mail from Porsche, he said yes...I think he's blowing smoke up my ass, because he doesn't know that e-mail address that Porsche sent me the invite from, he only knows my work e-mail that I use with him. I signed up for Porsche newsletters with that e-mail address, I think it was a coincidence that I got the e-mail at the same time I was asking him for it....In any case, I'm going next Sunday afternoon, should be fun!

Oh wow, didn't know this. I know the BMW dealer in my area had a similar event last year. They pretty much had all the BMW's to test drive except for the all M models, and the X's.
550i was damn fast and smooth.
Wish I could go to the Porsche one though, never test drove a Porsche in my life :[

Had a BLAST today. Unfortunately when I got there for my time slot, it was raining buckets. Fortunately by the time we finished our class session, it stopped and got sunny. The track was still wet, but by the time we were up to the hotlaps, where we really want to get the maximum performance, it dried up 95%. There were some parts that they made us coast through the puddle rather than full power to avoid any mishaps. Overall had a fantastic time. I managed to squeeze about 115 in the straight driving the Carrera S and Panamera GTS, and about 105 in the Carrera. We also drove the new, not yet released Boxster S on a small autocross course too. Lastly, we drove the Cayenne S/Hybrid and Panamera S/Hybrids back to back to show how similar they are. Most importantly, I got the wife to come with me and get a feel for my passion and why I enjoy it so much. She had a great time, was as nervous as shit, but she just wanted to drive fast in a straight line. I had to coach her through the track because I did see my life flash by me a few times when she either didn't brake enough going into a turn, or started accelerating out of a turn too soon. The instructors had 3 cars "lead and follow", with two way radios in each car to communicate with all of us. They weren't in the car with us during the hot laps, so I felt obligated to tell her what she had to do. She did gradually get better, with her fastest trap speed being the last one in the GTS. OK, I'll stop rambling, on to the pics:

Cool pics man, you're lucky.
How did you like your experience in the new carrera?
was it fast? Pros and cons? All major car reviewing sites seem to give it big praises. What was your favorite of the bunch

^Carrera S and Panamera GTS impressed me the most. The difference between the Carrera and S is significant, as you can see especially by my trap speed on the open straight. All of the cars were awesome though, without a doubt. I can't possibly think of any negatives about any of the cars driven today. I HATED the PDK buttons on the Carrera steering wheel, and much preferred the paddles on the Carrera S and Pana GTS. I'd still rather a 6MT, but the PDK is definitely an excellent transmission, a million times better than the outgoing Tiptronic of yester-year.

Amazing reviews of the car.
But I'm surprised they didn't have the 911 turbo, or the GT3's for test drives. Actually nvm it is a good thing...Most average drivers wouldn't be able to handle those monsters, and Porsche would never risk it either. especially the turbo.
