it seems like nissan is pretty adamant about people not modifying the GTR though. I'm not sure if this was really supposed to be taken as a joke in the manual.

I've heard the ECU is supposedly 'uncrackable', the turbos are built into the exhaust manifold, and in general, any modification will void the warranty.
