If I am not mistaken, yamaha made the engine for Ford in the SHO's.

yes, everybody is correct, the engine is by Yamaha, not Ford (thankfully)

No, though i have a 2002 that is far from finished, thats a Bavaria aka 3.0s but the engine is a 3.4 whatever from a 80's 535.

Actually, a few shims needed for the 60k maitnence need to be bought from a motorcylce supply shop, I thought that was kind of interesting...

got tired of paying for and maintaining both my volvo s80(i need an all weather car) and the z so I sold em both and bought the runner. looking at used carrera 4's right now; might dump the runner and get one. the sports car itch just wont go away.

Loved the way it handled... could have had more power.... and the gas mileage sucked. I only drove it for about 800 miles or so before I sold it. Got it with 5100 miles on it... sold it with 59xx miles about 5 months later. Sold it for what I paid for it... so it was like a free rental minus gas
