Picked up the new Accord for my Dad

TL started being a little b.... and had been breaking down a lot. Couldn't stand it any more. Needed something a lot more reliable. Cant go wrong with a new car

Its an EX-L with Navi.
Impressed by the technology and several other things in it.
Too much road noise, but Im not gonna be driving it much.

TL will be going on sale soon

White definitely looks good. Too bad Honda doesn't offer it with a black interior in the U.S.

It's been like that for years and I still can't understand why? Yet Canada gets both color schemes.

Congrats on the new ride.

Great pickup nspec. With the lease on my 12 EX coming up in 11 months, I'm personally torn between the Sport and EX.

I really like the new Accords...looks great! Funny how they copied Hyundai on the design (which is probably why I like it so much). Still...

Identical to mine in every way.

Did the Accord come with Goodyear tires? Mine did, they're supposedly quieter than the Michelins that came on other EX-L navis. Don't know why some have them and others don't.

I love white. Looks badass at night. More importantly, I think it is the most visible/noticeable color at night and therefore the safest.

Great looking cars, but those wheels are rough looking and white is so hard to keep clean sometimes.
It does look great when clean.

How is the CVT???

My go to mechanic that has always worked on my Honda/Acuras has told me to stay away from the CVT... Really not sure if that means anything these days

I have the exact same car, the CVT is quite good. No lag, no weirdness. It drives very much like a traditional automatic.

I normally despise CVT's but this one is good.

Im not a fan of CVT. But this one is much better than ones in Nissans.
I find it pretty annoying when im getting on it the rpms just stay up for so long. There is no change in the sound the of rpm that you wanna hear when getting on it.

personally id still prefer the auto over it.

TL has given me a lot of trouble this year. Its all fixed up now, but I just dont want family driving it and it breaks down again for what ever reason. It was towed about 2-3 times this year.

as far as teh genesis comparison, i never noticed it before, but you guys are right. the taillights are exactly the same.

you can tell we love accords.

Since 2003, our family has had atleast 9 Accord that i can remember. Not counting the ones i've bought and sold.

a hose leaked once
Radiator went out once.
thermostat went out next
one of the fans went out
motor mounts had to be changed
I cant remember what else.

Did it ever overheat? If so, might be why the tstat went out. I'd also be concerned with the head gaskets. I'm surprised the radiator needed replacing. Other than damage, I've never heard of anyone replacing one on the board due to corrosion. Motor mounts are common, otherwise pretty minor. As long as it didn't overheat, regular maintenance will keep the TL healthy and reliable.

Nice pick up OP. But notice how the Accord has grown over the years? Much bigger car in the current Gen.
