Was talking to a local dealer and he thinks that with the CAFE standards that Pontiac may be limited to the number of GXPs they produce. Oh here we go again...

Me: Yes I'm interested in a GXP
Dealer: Oh yes, the GXP...we have 1 in stock
Me: Can you do any better than MSRP
Dealer: Yeah, how about MSRP + $8000. It's a rare car ya know
Me: And the GTs are selling for $4000 under MSRP?
Dealer: Uh huh
Me: drives off with loaded Magnetic Gray Matallic GT...still happy

Look at other dealers. I remember when the Z06 came out they were well over MSRP in some areas, ours had 2 sitting on the lot.

In another 12 months that might actually be doable.

You should read the G8 boards. It's happening now. Not quite $4K but they are starting to discount them. The one issue was with the first 888 produced. People were willing to pay that premium. Seems kinda wacky to me.

I guess with the price of gas people are steering clear of the G8. Not quite ready to pull the trigger anyway. New house first, car second.

umm....cool! Hopefully they will continue to stay clear long enough for me to jump into one at a great price. (Since the wife has "my" AV6 now and I have the Murano, maybe I will turn the Mo in at lease end this Feb 09 and jump into a GT for cheap...although the new 09 Maxima is starting to grow on me a bit. )

although I like the look of the SRT8, one of the few domestics I like, the G8 is a winner all around.

So do a lot of cars. But for some people, it's about a balance between performance and looks.

I meant in the looks dept not performance...its all subjective I know, but the new maxima just looks horrendous to me in the pics.

Its like Nissan hit a 5 year design pinnacle and is deciding to just fuck it all up with this water design, whatever the hell they call it.
