That would be a drawback for me, though my Midget has a pain of a soft top as well.
Any convertible that you have to get out of the car to put the top down is a pain.
I don't think I'd take it out if there was even a chance of rain so doesn't matter to me lol.
but how would it get cleaned?
is300eater; I see what you mean about the roof process. I knew the speedster was a bit of a process, I didn’t realize the spyder RS was fairly similar. The spyder RS looks a lot better than the speedster in my opinion, but the speedster has a manual…
about the integra, I think I would prefer a TLX SH-AWD manual than an Integra manual with AWD.
Funny enough the top for the 981 Spyder is much easier.
I don’t get why the 718 Spyder/RS has to be so over engineered. I get that it’s mechanical to save weight but cmon. A fkn Miata has a much simpler soft top and that car weighs 2300lbs.
its like how on the GT models where they now use a sticker for the Porsche emblem rather than a traditional badge. Like how much weight are they actually saving.
If I have to do anything other than push a button to raise or lower the roof, I don't want it. It starts raining, I don't want to have to dance around the car to get the roof back up.

exactly, or the ribbon door latch thing. But, gotta have Navi and stereo, and automatic climate controls, valved sport exhaust system and you’d be brain dead to order it without the extended leather interior and nose lift…
I mean we are making fun, and rightly so, but it’s still is miles better than an EV with a carbon fiber front lip and interior trim… or the carbon package on the new m5. The modern marketing teams would have built a medieval castle, but used bamboo for the draw bridge to save weight and made it a highlight of the design.

It's all marketing to sell to rich bros about how their elite track car is capable of lapping the ring in some absurd time as if that matters at all for their drive to the car show/club/Costco.

Putting the top on to clean it every so often wouldn't be so bad but trying to scramble to get it on while the rain is starting sounds awful.
I probably wouldn't buy one anyway (would rather just get a Cayman GTS or something) but I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating cookies either.
Cool AMG I saw near the Autocross site. It was there last month too, but I didn’t have a chance to snap a pic. I need to knock on some doors and get the owner to run with us.
Not sure what I think about the actual front end (do you really need an M-badge there?), but was pleasantly surprised not to see the beaver teef on this 240i M-sport.
Is that an R107 next to the 240?? You’re taking pics of the wrong car
im not a fan of the new 2 series either, also, looks funny with the closed nostrils when parked. The new M2 is slowly growing on me since a friend has one and I see it pretty often, but I definitely prefer the looks of prior Gen.

That said the G87 has grown on me. Same with the G80 M3
Yep. I feel like BMW has just lost the thread in terms of its design “language,” such as it is.
Guess there aren’t many marques outside of Porsche that can afford to just gradually refine, tweak, and evolve models from gen to gen.
That does look good, I’m generally not a fan of black wheels, but the whole, blackout look works great on the r8. I also like the contrast with the calipers.
