Went to a tiny car meet today with some friends. Lots of fun, chatting around… except I went inside for a bit to hang out and a flash of rain came and I had my windows down. Someone came to tell me but the rain was short and heavy, so my doors and seats (passenger was worse) were pretty drenched… Anyways, now I know to close my windows when I go inside… (big brain moment)
The color on the STO was nicer in person.
My friends RX7 and 964 (not the guy in the photo, I don’t know who he is)
2 average beetles and an excellent X5
Clarkson’s voice: Jaaaaaaag. That thing looked great, he even tool kit in a nice leather case in the trunk. His IQ is also far higher than mine, he left before the rain. The 911 in the back is a friend’s that does historic races with it.
At an Acura dealership, this NSX pulled up with a layer of dust, getting serviced. The owner didn't speak much English, but a younger guy with him (probably like a nephew or something) said it only has 20k kilometers on it! That's like 12k miles!
I'd love one of those, really any Defender for that matter, but have heard lots of horror stories about the continued legacy of Land Rover reliability.
My wife really likes the look of them.
Maybe with a very generous and all-encompassing [with loaner provided] extended warranty.
A GX550 Overtrail and a Defender 110 S come out to about the same MSRP
I'd put my $ into the Lexus first.
Granted, that a TTV6 in the GX vs the 2.0T in the Defender, which sways to the Lexus even more.
^ Saw almost the same car at the grocery store last night.
"Yes. Yes. I saw 3 of these parked outside the local Starbucks this morning which tells me one thing. There are too many self indulgent WEENERS in this town with to much BLOODY MONEY!"
Best friend growing up lives in Austin and is doing the same for his '69 Camaro, he has a LS Gen 3 he's putting in with a new front subframe and Tremec 6MT (off a Firebird/TransAm). He's waiting for retirement to get seriously into building it.
