that's why i jam on the gas pedal and pass that mofo on the right as fast as i can.....but you're right, if you're patient enough to pass going under the speed limit and only when there's no car around, you don't need to worry about passing at all! just stay in your lane until the mofo in front of you exits. best and safest method!

Over here, tickets start at 10km/h over, demerits at 16 km/h over. I think there are set fines for 10-15 over, 16-20, 21-25 or something like that.

Basically, a cop can't pull you over for going 9 km/h over the limit. Even cops on radar don't really care unless you're doing at least 16 over, and then if you show some common courtesy, you get a court date and an agreement to lower it to 15 over, no points.

Well when I pass on a two-lane road, I pass the same way as you. But if I get pulled over for it I can't really get too mad. Kind of a risk/reward thing I guess

I was surprised this morning cause I was late for school and pinned the cruise control at 78 in a 65. Normally I don't go much more than 7 over and I see police cars over to the side a mile away, but this time I didn't notice him with the radar pointed until halfway down the decline. I let off but I'm sure he caught my speed. Lucky I guess.... I've heard conflicting opinions, but supposedly if you ever got a ticket of 5 over or less the judge will probably laugh and throw it out.

I get the same thing sometimes with jackasses driving slow as balls and speeding up after you try to pass them up. Hell, got that today on the 4-lane freeway.... idiot in a Mustang was going 60 in the left lane, didn't move after I creeped up behind him, then when I went over in the lane on the right to shoot the gap, the idiot went up to 75ish for a bit.

Yeah, we get a lot of that bs here too. People speeding up when you try to pass.

That said, I've never had an issue passing cops before. 2 lane roads or otherwise. And as I was smart about it, they've never had a problem with me doing it. Make sure you've got plenty of room, you don't go over the limit and don't cut them off coming back over and you've broken no laws. Don't cross on a solid yellow.
