Packards Galore! (56k No Way!!)

So, a few friends and I got together this past weekend and drove up to Salado for a Packard show. Man, talk about some B-E-A-UTIFULL cars!!

As we were there, they unveild the future of Packard:

It turns out that a group of private investors got together and bought the name. This is the first engineering prototype. It has a V12 ans full time all wheel drive. The engine is the same basic design as the LS1. The big surprise though, was how much they were expecting to seel it for: $175K!! I mean, I know that the car is still about 2 years from being final, but damn, they would have to do a hell of a lot to make this car worth $175k.

I didn;t even know that someone had that!! I was going to put that on my Z06, but I guess that I will have to think of a new one now.

That new Packard is definetly not 200k material. That interior has nothing to it at all.

Yea, its always hard to think of good plates. But hes in NY so maybe its available in TX still.

I still want to live in the Packard Building in Philly, not the best location, but just the idea of living where these cars were made.

Classic Packards are beautiful cars. It's be a real shame if they ruined the Packard name/memory by releasing that fugly prototype; almost looks like an 80's cadillac that's been bondo'd up.

Ya know, looking at that packard prototype again...I think someone was pulling your leg. There's no way that thing is a production prototype. Thats gotta be a customized caddy...even the dash vents look like a GM part and are located where they would be on a caddy...

the old ones define craftsmanship, think about the technology used to create them compared to whats available today

told ya man. They just raided the GM parts bin. I mean, even the turn signal stalk is straight GM.

They are paused right now as they look for more funding-it will be interesting to see what happens.

It really is a shame that they couldn't have picked another Packard to style off of cause the specs for this car seem pretty good. Plus, the idea of an all-American made car is novel.
