I love my CL, but aftermarket support has been non-existent for the 16+ years that I've owned the car. Pretty much EVERY mod I did to that car is custom in some way or another.
I freaking love it, it sounds even better with the intake and cat-back. I start it in the morning in my driveway with the remote start just so I can hear it fire up lol

Even the little secondary air pump that got the K&N filter makes it whistle now lol

Some of the best mods ever are the ones that have to be custom or that you have adapted from other cars.

That's why I loved modding my Ack so much, doing shit that no one's ever done to that car, inspiring countless others to do mods that I did... however it comes at more frustration and a higher cost. I'm super happy with my custom sub install, still the only one I know of to have done that install. Shoot, I tried custom stuff on my 4Runner but not all of it panned out so I didn't post it here lol. It is nice to have more parts plug and play these days on the truck especially since I don't have as much free time to hang in the garage all weekend like I did back in the day. Still definitely miss those days though

Sounds like you have the best of both worlds dude. Sometimes it's nice to quickly install a new piece without having to find a half day somewhere. Are you driving the Acura these days? I don't see too much about it.
Truck is looking good. I've been looking at places that might afford me a spot for a second car - would be cool to put an old BMW in the garage and trade the Passat for a 4th gen 4Runner.

The goal has been to drive the Ack all summer, but with my dog battling cancer my attention and energy has been on him and not on the car. Hope to have the Ack inspected in early July

you inspired me btw...just ordered an amazon wiring kit and LOC...
from what I gather, I will be able to put the tiny JL amp under the B&O one in the side panel
and then sub in 10" sealed box. I won't even remove the factory B&O sub so I can revert
whenever.
All the work is in the trunk too...remote turn on and battery sits under the spare tire in there.

He's on pain meds and we're keeping him comfortable, he's too big and heavy for amputation (front leg) and I'm not putting him through chemo so at this point it's just day to day. It sucks balls, I spent 20 grand trying to save my first dog from cancer and it was the worst day of my life when he went down.

Thanks bro, sadly it won't end any better or different. We're just trying to spoil him rotten and enjoy every day that we have with him. He just had his 9th birthday on Monday.

He's a happy boy! I love that...
when the time is right, you'll know...they will tell you in their own way with a look in their eye and you won't feel badly about the decision.
I think your approach is correct...
with Sunny she got into a tussle with something wild when I was up in Tampa visiting my sister...they played me...oh it'll be $5000 to keep her alive...we have pet credit cards if you want...
I went outside to call my Mom (who's your lifeline?! ) and we both agreed that there were no guarantees and we had to be pragmatic...once I told them I needed to let her go the story
changed...are you sure? oh wait, she's doing better...I'm like fuck y'all let me see my girl. I went in the back and she put her paw up on the cage and looked at me like, ninja...get me out of here.
Ended up being like $2000 because I stopped what they were doing and just kept her okay for the night then took her to a real vet that wasn't a piece of shit the day after that did the surgery for
cheap.
Got another 5 years with her after that...she ended up having what I think was a stroke...had to carry her outside to pee for a week...held her in my arms until her dying breath at home...I was out
doing stuff with my Acura and my buddy Brian that night and got home late...my ex was with her and she said...I think she waited for you. I got home and within an hour I felt her last heartbeat.
Took her to get cremated...I still have her remains now.
Annie, the black lab...that was my girl too...had her from the moment she got pulled from her Mother (a black lab I used to own)...she lived 10 years...this was after Zoe so the pecking order
of love and loss had changed a bit. She had an undiagnosed belly tumor that must have burst when I rough housed with her one night...next morning she couldn't get up to get water...ex called
the dr and I had to go to work. At 10am they called me and said she needed to go down. I hauled ass up to hold her while they did it.
I actually used to want to be a Vet...but I didn't have the stomach for the harsher side of it.
When we got divorced the ex took the next 2 dogs we had gotten after my girls...subsequently she had to find homes for them
and I ended up in a house with a tiny rat looking yapper that my current fiancee loves like her own child in a twist of fate that is
laughable because I used to say no matter how hot...I will never date a girl with a yappy shit dog. And here I am.
Big hug and Kiss Chris...you have a big heart. The world needs more people like that.

Well that made this thread take a turn.
Best of wishes for Charlie. Hate hearing what he is going through but I believe you are making the right choice for him like I have told you before.
J at never wanting a girl with a yappy dog and now having one.

I actually wanted to be a vet most of my childhood, until I watched my cat be put down and watched the life leave her eyes, decided right then and there that I couldn't do that for a living. It's hard enough to make the decision with my own animals

Thanks man, I debated even bringing it up, but some things in life are more important. My friends were giving me shit about not having my Acura on the road yet and I just laughed it off. I'd love to be driving it right now, but spending every day/night I can with Charlie is far more important right now then spending it in the garage with him sitting upstairs wishing I was with him

Awww damn, this page hit me in the feels.
Sorry to hear about your pup, Ack. It's never fun, and it's never easy. He certainly looks like a happy pup in that pic.

I just remember we gave them (all lots more stories, don't want to fill the thread with sadness) Great lives, treated them better then most people are treated, cared for them, loved them and did all we could to save them. Only when it was worse to keep them alive than put them out of their misery, did we put them down.
