I have stock wheels and tires, and I'm not lifted, why not use them for winter? The potholes here get insane, last thing I want to do is jack up my nice rims or $200 a piece tires
I have ceramic coating, just scared to apply it lol. Definitely planning to put it on the wheels over the winter

Had not thought of this. This would be a great idea so that you can just run them year round with no worries.

I get that northern roads have pot holes. I grew up in PA winters and had 5 years of NY winters while in school. I get the issue of pot holes. I drove an Acura CL with 225/45/17 tires in NY and never bent a wheel. Not trying to be a dick here but with the tire size of an SUV with 17in wheels you would have to be flying to bend and damage a rim on a pot hole that wasn't 6in deep. Not saying it isn't impossible but it is very unlikely.

I would make fun of you and say you should have just bought real bead locks that you couldn't mess up.... but I wouldn't want to scratch a new car either. That is why all my stuff is well out of warranty when I get it.
Oh, and Mexican potholes are Laughing at that tiny little thing.

It was just a sample I grabbed from google, the roads literally wash out here and become massive craters. Yes I have road hazard on my Cooper tires, but why not use beater wheels and tires for winter since I have them?

are you convincing us? or yourself?
I guess the point he's making is you could make it still look super commando zombie killer for those 5 months of winter and offset the cost of buying some cool wheels by selling those.
but I get it.

That is exactly my point. I could get if your winter was 2-2.5 months long just saying hell with it. With as long as your winter is I would still want my truck to look zombie killer cool all the time if I spent the time, effort, and money you did into making it look that good.

I said I will paint them next summer, I'm not buying different rims. I just dropped a grand on something I actually need and will use, no point in buying different wheels when I have a full assembled set on the vehicle, there is no point in buying other wheels, I've spent more on this truck already then I ever planned lol
