For anyone asking why I'm not bolting brand new parts onto my truck in the middle of salt season, I give you exhibit A. Both sides rusting already

Okay so the real issue isn't the parts or that you're a big giant dripping pussy.
It's where you live.
Move. Problem solved!

They're supposed to be stainless screws

They obviously lied or gave some cheap chinese grade "stainless". Not all stainless is created equal. You could also go with a titanium or full zinc replacement instead.

Clean it up with a Dremel and paint it. Work smarter, not harder!

You guys are missing the point. He doesn't give AF about a $0.02 screw. If he did, he would obviously replace it, just like he's replaced or modded every other square inch of his truck.

He's just showing that winter is hard not only on cars, but pricey mods too. He just wants to keep his stuff nice for a bit.

I get that point.

The point I am trying to make is you can take good mods and maybe upgrade a couple things where they cut corners so that it doesn't matter how harsh the winter is it will still survice. I grew up in the winters of Pennsylvania I know what they can do and I went to school in the winters in Rochester, NY for 5 years. So it is not a point I am missing. I have a few spots of rush on my TSX still from when it was driven in those conditions. However, visible things that I could replace with things that wouldn't rust I would. Twice a month auto car washes with under carriage spray can help save a lot of rust too.

Regardless, he is pushing one direction and many of us the other direction in good fun cause it isn't our car.

You clearly don't get the point if you honestly think I should install any of the things that I just spent thousands of dollars on now instead of waiting for spring and the end of salt season

Chris just doesn't like to be told what to do. That's all.

In a year and a week from now, all the new shit will be just as rusty so why not just start enjoying it now?
and in 10 years you won't remember that you got an extra 10 months of no rust on your new part...

I mean, it's a proclaimed beater, it's rugged...it's meant to be beat up and rust and get you where you need to go in harsh conditions.
I'd install all that shit now for the sick photoshoot opportunities in the snow with all your gear on.

and if you want to be extra douchey, then posting a picture of a rusty screw is rather confusing as if you were implying we weren't certain what you meant by rust.
we get that it'll rust, we're saying why do you care if you live where you live and that truck is for that purpose.

and I think Taco should have a battle to the death with himself, dick punches a must.

The screw is to show how quick things can go to shit in this weather, nothing more. Point being I'm not going to take a 1.5K roof rack and slap it on in the middle of this shit. That is the point

Nope, I don't give a crap about the screw, I have ones to replace the screw in the spring. I'm just showing Colts why I don't keep my wheels on or install brand new parts in the dead of winter
