That's not even a 4runner

But I agree with what he said. Don't bother with the grille if the size is right.

^ It should fit like that, the guy building me the brackets said that it should fill the gap pretty well and sit pretty flush. Unfortunately I'd be the first to try it, but I've already been contemplating not using the mesh. On the other side, I'd like the stealth look too.

So you're slapping on a light bar before those sweet headlights?

No...

I'm slapping on the headlights, the bumper and the light bar all at the same time... It will be a whole different truck in 1 day.

Still debating what to do with the spare grille

If it fits like this then do it without the grill. Otherwise behind the grill. Yes I know this is another year but best picture I could find to illustrate what I was talking about.

yeah yeah I see that it isn't a 4runner now. It came up when I searched for it and being at work I was doing it quick once I found something to illustrate the point I was trying to make.

Yes, I could have... But I don't need it, and I already have a new painted bumper from Maker

I love the curved bar on this build. I would do horrible things to have a DD like this..minus the ladder rack on the back

If I was doing a roof mount I totally would do the curved, I looked at doing that to match the curve of my bumper, but I'm not sure that the brackets I'm getting fabbed would work with a curved bar

Well, glad nothing bad happened.

It's not winter if you're not driving next to some person who has no clue how to handle the weather in their car.

I also had him do a 35% visor on the front. My ack has one from the factory, but for some reason the 4Runners don't, never had one, but I kinda like it.

I don't tow, so I can't really answer, but the V6 has had plenty of power to tow a trailer the few times that I've had to. The V8 is only worth it if you plan to tow a lot, and need the extra torque. The V6 has 10 more hp than the V8, but the V8 has WAY more torque, so it really depends on your needs. I like the power and better gas mileage of the V6.

Had a buddy all lined up to give me a hand on Saturday putting my new painted front bumper and flush mount LED light bar in the grille, and then this happened Friday night.

Shuttle bus ran over a steel pole which pulled the throttle cable to wide open.

Driver lost control and came barreling at me head on at full acceleration. All I could do to avoid being killed or seriously hurt was swerve out of the way. Fortunately I didn't get hurt or killed, but he caught the back corner of my truck.

Sucks, but I'm glad that I wasn't hit head on, or it would have been REALLY bad. He couldn't stop the vehicle and barreled through me, and almost plowed into a cement wall, which I very well could have been pushed into. He went on 3 wheels and did a 180 deg turn to avoid the wall, and then threw it in park and pulled the key while the engine was redlining. Happy to be alive and unhurt. Getting estimate at the body shop tonight right after work.
