+1 When I bought my 335 in Feb. you couldn't touch a E60 M5 for under $65k. Now I see them on ebay BIN for $50k. Can you get an aftermarket extended warranty on these since BMW doesn't offer one ? VANOS failure FTL!

I see alot of these in the shop I've done consulting at for over 4 years now. I personally would not buy one even if it's at an attainable price. The fit and finish on them are iffy and they do have rattles / other issues you just don't want to see on a car like this.

The repair bills on these are insane, insane, insane have I said insane yet? They are pretty and yes the warranty is higher than average but you will lose money on this car (no surpise to you) even if you own and sell within warranty.

Have you considered maybe a used M5 in that price range? Classy, solid, great resale value & imo just as sexy as a Quattroporte.

So hypothetically, if you bought and had to sell within warranty you would only have a few years of usage.

$$ on maintenence expenditures, and depreciation over a few years of ownership

= same cost as:

worry free lease on a new luxo flagship sedan.

Well ernesto since my original post my wife has had revelation and after 4 + years of not working wants to open up a commercial daycare center. At this point I get to purchase a commercial building and sit on it for 8 months empty while she gets licensed so quattroporte dreams have become used clk/m3 realities.

I say once you are able, get one. It one of those cars that just makes people stop and stare. Even though the Maseratti is making a comeback, they are fairly exclusive.

LT: You are obviously able to keep up with the required maintenance, and its pure sex on wheels. It makes sense if money is not the issue. If it is...well.......

That gym was an inevitable flop unless you live in beverly hills whereas a daycare is a necessity!

Biggest problem I see with that industry are the 'home certified' women who have like 8 kids running around their home which is deemed a 'day care center'. My parents neighbor does that and she's a fucking alcoholic.

I actually saw a rerun the other night, and the quattroporte on entourage somehow looked outdated already. Maybe just cause the episode is old (ps. also saw a commercial for new episodes starting early september ).

There is also one that parks at my work. I'd say it is something that you'd definitely notice over a standard bmw/jag/merc, but not really a supercar. I'm just not sure the depreciation on that kinda car is worth it.

My Mom actually ran a daycare out of her home for 23 years. She still gets cards from some of the kids she helped raise b/c she was such a positive influence in their lives. Most of the kids didn't want to go home at the end of the day when their parents arrived. They very often ate better with her than at home. My Mom did more preschool teaching of many of those kids than their own parents. I guess I'm just trying to say that you shouldn't generalize.
