Nice choice on the Pioneer HU. I used to like Pioneer but I'm not sure on spending that much for my FD. I was eyeing the Sony XAV-AX5000 for my FD. I might consider the new HD Kenwood double din setups for the IS300 if I decide to keep it.
Your updates have made me start looking into potential costs for owning an NSX lol. I recently traded in my CTR and am now debating on building my FD or looking for another project. I was considering other mid engined cars like the Evora or maybe an M2 or ND miata. It's all over the place though. A 500 hp FD with JDM widebody wouldn't be a bad fall back plan though. Theres only so much more time I have to play with cars before I have kids and have to put those plans on pause. I'll probably send you a PM to ask you a few details though. Keep up the good work!

Fair enough. I have some more boring maintenance content coming up.

Well, we though maybe you had Given Up, but, In The End, you didn't. You returned to post more quality content. And I guess we should Leave Out All The Rest. We should began Breaking The Habit, because you finally have an NSX! We should celebrate that with dragoning! And careful not to damage The Catalyst with something From The Inside!
We're all just Waiting For The End, of this thread.
In the meantime, we can all tell ourselves, this is Somewhere I Belong!

So I went to Cars and Coffee this weekend with a dirty NSX since I had driven it in the rain this past weekend. Apparntly that is a no no and people have no sense of morals and not touching other people's property. Someone there decided to draw a penis and right clean me on my dirty car. I am glad I didn't witness it cause my reaction probably would not have been with words. I don't care what type of car it is NSX, Ferrari, or even someones Toyota Camry you don't touch people property.
I did at least get a maple bacon donut at the free donut tent
It had already been in the books but washed the NSX later that day since it was so nice out.
It was then time to change the transmission fluid cause the previous owner had not done it once during his 7 year ownership. Not sure it was that bad though since he didn't even accumulate 20k miles in that period.
Fluid is a little dark but not too bad considering it could be the original fluid for all I know.
Don't forget new crush washers
3qts of White Cap Honda Transmission Fluid
While I had the car in the garage I decided to test out two wheel colors from spare wheels I have for my TSX. Need to start planning what color to powdercoat my next set of TE37.
Weather Sunday was supposed to be another crazy warm day for January with the high in the high 60s. So took a trip to Little Switzerland as I heard the roads up there were excellent for driving. They did not dissapoint.
Stopped at a scenic overlook right before route 80 connects with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Unfortunately, with the government shutdown many sections of the parkway up this way are closed because they had been closed for the snow storm that came in December and then have never been reopened. The one good thing that came from this though is at this point there is a 2 mile stretch of the parkway before the close off gate. Which basically meant a free use as you please 2 mile hill climb track after I drove to the top saw no one was up there and then drove back down and didn't pass anyone. Did this stretch about 6 time for some fun spirited driving without worry.
Scenic overlook at the top of the 2mile hill climb
Stopped to take some pictures at an old mineral mine.
The targa came off right after this picture too
On the way home I rolled over 35k miles

Beautiful scenery.
I'm bet that was a fun drive on those roads!
I like the fuchsia wheel better, IMO. Chemelion Sapphire Teal may look cool.
Screw that d-head.
Your post was well thought out and meaningful, what a pleasure to read.

So while waiting for the transmission fluid to drain this past weekend I took the time to crawl around under the car and inspect other parts for any other future work I might need to do. I found two things one possibly minor and the other a little more concerning.
The upper and lower boots on the drivers side ball joints are torn. Hoping that I can just get away with replacing the boots since the joints only have 35k miles on them. Eventually I will probably upgrade to the Carbon6 ones but for now I hope I can get some more life out of these.
On to the more concerning find. I can't tell if these are cracks in the body of just a poor repair job and the new body sealer coming off. Short of taking it to a body shop though I am not sure how I can verify that.
Hoping I don't need to stop driving the car before figuring out what is going on here.

Yes to me it looks like a botched repair for the first one and either a botched or missed repair for the second one.
Hyper Teal and Raspberry are the two top canidates. Total list of considered colors is candy raspberry, hypber teal, takata green, candy lime green, hypber red, black.
Here is the candy lime green since I think it is the only color I haven't posted.

Those look great. Definitely didn't think about doing purple. Purple on black would look good. Have been considering a dark metallic purple lip with flat black centers for the V.
The raspberry has two looks depending on the lights.
Out of sunglight (Normally even a little darker than this actually)
In sunglight

I think since you already got that color. you should try a new color that you dont have in your collection.
Are you gonna repaint it or custom order from Mackin?

The wheels will be custom powder coated. I have already secured a second set of TE37 and am picking them up this weekend. They are only one year old and basically mint condition and I was able to get them for a price that still lets me buy the tires for them and be right at the cost I would have paid for a new set. They have tires on them already that are barely used but not the sizes I want or the tire type so will sell those tires to cover some of the powder coating cost hopefully. OG TE37 design in NSX fitment has also been discountinued for good. You can only get TE37SL and newer versions of the wheel in NSX fitment now.
