There's a guy right now selling a 2002 (ie not pop-up) targa with 73k miles, for $65k. That's really low for a frog-eyes NSX. To put it in perspective, $65k is a currently realistic price for me to ask for my '99 (NA2 pop-up) targa with 79k miles. The mythical $30k NSX, however, is now legend other than extremely high mileage or salvage samples in this market. If I see surprising deals, I'll let you know, they tend to go fast.
Speaking of surprises, @synth19 is selling his imeola orange.

The sweet spot for me was the NA2 popup (97-01). Bigger engine and 6-speed manual, old pop-ups. The NA1 in 5MT was 91-96, all pop-ups. They have a crazy long 2nd gear that is a unique experience. Honda didn't want to go to fixed headlamps, but the then new European pedestrian standards started for the 2002 MY, so we have "frog eyes".
NSX nerd trivia: All automatic NSXs are NA1 as they all kept the C30B 3.0 l engine.
@juniorbean just wait for the NSX bubble to pop. Prices are already flat this year as there are a lot of NSXs on the market.

Yeah I use the same one every where. Makes it easy to know who it is. Those mirrors are so cool if they ever actually get more than 3 sets of them produced.

You definitely rarely see them for sure. I am a big fan of rarely seen cars too. Hense the pick of my last 3 cars. The funny thing is though while at the Dragon this weekend I was 1 of 3 NSX up there. They all happened to be Berliner Black as well which isn't a surprise since it is the most produced color. The one gentleman from Tennessee has had his 91 Berliner Black with cream interior since it was new. Has 113k miles on it now. Told me he had to buy it back then with never having driven one cause dealers were not allowing test drives.

Yeah I have been in love with this one since I first heard it. It is still straight piped with just a pair or resonators or race mufflers not sure. They are really small whatever they are. The thing is really loud and gets to you after some long driving but when you get it into vtec and in the high rpms it just sings and sounds so amazing. Might need to start wearing ear plugs on long drives so I don't go deaf.
Definitely will be taking good care of her. She needs so TLC maintenance to start off with before some mods.

Always forget they were only $60k when they first came out before the final years when they were priced all the way up to $89k.
Definitely crazy dropping that kind of money on Acura/Honda first major attempt at a sports car with never driving it. Thankfully it was a damn good car for those that did.

Check out Carbon 6 composites. The guy is local to me and does seriously incredible work. Makes all sorts of stuff for the NSX

That’s who we’re talking about lol. There’s a mile long waiting list for those mirrors that he probably won’t get to anytime soon. It’s already been forever. I’ve honestly given up on them and working on other stuff for my car at the moment.

Yeah man...insane.
I remember the first time I saw one in person.
I guess in my mind I always felt like it was an almost exotic (and don't take offense to that please)...
but now that I'm older I wouldn't mind one at all. Just don't think I'd jump on it at the current rates.
I'm happy with my S2000 for now.

Yeah I am fine with a long wait time as long as they actually happen. Not sure I am ready for a few years anyways to drop that kind of money on some mirrors. The fact though they are fully operable electronically and fold in like the factory mirrors while having turn signals and looking like that is just amazing.

I say be choosy what you do to the car...factory mirrors are fine.
I also think you should do something drastic ASAP to make the car your own visually...
everyone has seen that other "friend" guy driving it around...powdercoat the wheels another intense color or sell them for some volk CE28 or even betttttarrrr some Regamasters!!!!!!!!!
Please?!?!

First thing will probably a new set of wheels or additional set of wheels is probably more like it. I want to get something that allows for the widest fitment I can do with the brake setup I have. The trophy kit unfortunately is kind of limiting in what you can run. So most likely it will be another set of TE37 in either gold or matte bronze in 17x8.5 and 18x10.5. That way I can run 225/40/17 and 275 or 285/35/18 tires. I want to get something like Yokohama AD08R or Dunlop ZIII for serious grip and then maybe keep the second set of wheels with something better for road trips that can deal with some cool temps and rain.
Long term will be resto first with needing to replace all the door, window, and targa seals. Trunk and rear glass struts need replaced too. Need to reseal or replace the passenger side taillight as it has condensation in it. The stereo in it will get replaced with a new headunit as the volume knob is going wack with the current one and I will probably do an amp and new speakers at the same time. It will get a nice carbon dash kit at that time as well. NSX-R hood and air scoop kit and eventually maybe a full wing on the back as well. I am 50/50 on doing a red interior swap. I already have the carpet from the previous owner and some red recaro suede I could have the door panels done in. If I do it I want some Recaro Pole Position seats probably done in black leather with red suede middle and red stiching unlesss I can find a semi affordable set of NSX-R seats which is highly unlikely. That would probably be the whole plans for the car except maybe some additional tasteful interior carbon bits without over doing it.

I do need to do something to make it my own for sure so I am not driving around "his car". Powder coating the wheels this winter would be the easiest way. Might go with the rasberry color I love from the CEs I had on the TSX until I can order a brand new set of Bronze TE in max fitment specs. I would love some Regamasters if I could find the rare 17/18 NSX fitment set and not the 17/17 most guys run since they are easy to find. There is always the Gold BBS LM F1 with red center caps if a set turns up for sale.
Thinking of changing out the rear diffuser too to a Downforce GT Diffuser. Not sure that alone makes enough of a difference to make it my own.

If anything you’re replacing is discontinued hit up thensxshop.com for oem parts. The guy Marc Perez that runs that site lives in japan and has access to parts no longer sold in the U.S. if you’re on fb you should join the “nsx owners group”.

Do you remember Bzyrice? He's cool as fuck and has a crazy ass NSX now...he was local to me but moved to Orlando...
Him and his circle of buds usually have cool wheels they swap around and one set he was moving was regamasters in the set up you're talking about, pretty sure...
Yeah, funny but raspberry was the color that came to mind when I thought of you redoing them...then have some custom spoke decals made in black or something.

Yeah I will be hitting up Marc for a lot of stuff especially all the seals I need just because they are much much cheaper to get direct from Japan it seems.

Love that the raspberry has two different looks when it is cloudy vs when the sun is out. I would probably go with blue decals on the pink.
Although I do like the current wheel color since at night it looks murdered out and then during the day you can tell it is blue.

Thank you. High mileage ones are not that bad price wise and its still a Honda product as far as reliability goes.
