How did I miss this? How?

And stop copying me!

Beautiful NSX. This means, you will have to go to the Mid-East NSX meet in May next year (it's usually in Cary NC)...and NSXPO is in DC in October 2019. You better be there!

I was beginning to wonder if you were on vacation or something.

I figured you might say something like that. I almost named the thread "Following the Neuronbob Plan"

Thank you. I definitely want to hit up both of those events. I need to get both of them on my Calender. They just better not conflict with major Penn State games. Will you attend the Mid-East one or just NSXPO?

100% I will be at NSXPO unless I'm hit by a bus, and I've already gotten vacation approved for that date. The track days will be at Summit Point 10/9-10/2019, and the social days will be at Gaylord Convention Center in Maryland, near DC from 10/11-13.

The Mid-East meet is usually in mid-May. I tentatively plan to be there. The only question is whether I will finally have my Comptech supercharger installed by then, or will it still be sitting in my garage? Hmmmm....

LOL "neuronbob plan".... Now all I need is a P-car and another S2000 to complete MY collection.

PS the NSX is comfortable enough to drive cross-country. I drove to NSXPO in San Francisco a month ago, total 5800 mile round trip. My ancient 1999 handled the trip with no problems. The NSX community is just f-ing awesome, and was worth the long-ass drive. You'll enjoy being part of it.

So, V-zine is being replaced with NSX-zine? Who's next on the NSX bus?

Haha no kidding.
Looks more like it's becoming: CTS-VS2000NSX-zine.

Zero, despite maintaining 85-90 all the way out to the West Coast. V1 + wife (ie extra set of eyes) were the key.

S2000 to CTS-V wagon to NSX seems a perfectly natural progression to me!

Dang that is a long time in advance. I don't think I could make it for the full week but maybe a Thursday-Sunday could work. Definitely interested in it though for sure.

The Mid-East meet sounds like a definite for me being in May and so close. Oh wow you picked up a Comptech supercharger? Nice. Congrats on that. Will make it a beast of a car. You will now have two blowers in your garage as well.

It seriously was the first thing I thought of when I was making the thread. Sounds like we are on similar plans because I want a P-car as well in the stable eventually.

Holy crap that is one heck of a trip. I have already put 400 miles on the car in 9 days. My mileage limit though on my insurance wouldn't even allow me to make a trip like that though. I am not sure mine is as comfortable as yours either. I have Tein SportSpec Winding Master Mono Flex with 12/14k springs. Pretty much feel every bump in the road but it handles like a dream. Definity can't wait to start hitting up some of the events.

That is some good pace on the way out there. Do you have the front covered in clear bra to prevent chips? Thinking of doing it to mine.

Seem like a good progression to me.

Check your PM. I've got mine on my regular insurance for now but am in the process of making a big change.

I have Bilstein shocks on lower perch (drops the car 0.8") with regular shocks. Perfect for street driving, quite comfortable. It's also OK on the track. Remember, NSXs were made for the track from day 1, and the Bilsteins are essentially stock replacement shocks. Your suspension setup is (of course) more track oriented, so you'd beat my slow butt around the track.

I don't have a clear bra. My car came with a few rock chips on the front as the original owner drove his car up and down the East Coast, and I definitely put a few more on the car during the California trip. I tried to order a temporary clear bra that you brush on, but it arrived after I left, otherwise I would have used that.

Thursday-Sunday allows you to still do one track day (we almost always do two track days at NSXPO). The second track day has the traditional parade lap and group car photo, so that kind of starts off the social stuff.

3000-4000 miles a year. I haven't made a choice but it is the plan I am leaning towards.

Yeah mine is so stiff the other day on a bad road I pulled over to the side cause I was still new enough to driving it and thought I had a flat tire it had gotten so rough. Turns out the road was just that bad and I have the stiffest TEIN coils other than the race spec ones they make. I always have loved stiff suspensions and I am sure it will be amazing at the tail of the dragon this weekend.

I hope it is a regular track day as well and not just photos and a parade lap. If I am paying for it I want to be able to push the car. You bring the wife always to the NSXPO events or is it typically just a guys trip?

It's a regular track day, so no problem there. They typically do the parade lap at lunchtime when the track would be cold in any case. The main trick is, and it will be hard to remember until the time comes, to register as soon as NSXPO is announced. It always fills up.

I've been to the last three NSXPOs. The first two were guy trips for me, but this last one I brought my wife. She had a ball meeting everyone. The event is definitely spouse-safe.

I forgot to mention NSXcapades, which is in Orlando, the first weekend in December. Lots of cool NSX folks go to that meet and for you, may be worth the drive from NC. I can't go this year, unfortunately.

That car is gorgeous! Congrats dude, I'm so jealous! Only minor criticism I have is that I don't personally like the rims (never have liked those particular ones), but I'm also one of those weirdos that likes my NSX's in pure stock form so there ya go!

Ok cool glad it is still a regular track day as well. That is crazy that it fills up that fast. How many spots do they normally have for it? I guess I need to get my NSXCA registration done soon so I don't miss out.

Ok so maybe maybe not on the girlfriend. Do they normally book these events pretty full or do they leave time for you do your own thing as well on some days. I know if she would go she would want to hit up some of the museums and monuments as she has never been to DC before.

NSXcapades looks like a cool event. I will have to remember that for next year. My mom will be visiting that weekend and I already spent this years vacation budget. I think I am going to need to grow the yearly vacation fund for all these NSX gatherings.

I have always liked MagBlue TE37 but I am not sure they will be the only wheel to stay on the car. I would like to do a set of wheels in gold. Either another set of TE37, or CE28N, maybe one of Volks new offerings, or if I am lucky enough to find a set I would love to do a set of BBS LM F1 edition gold with the red center caps.

@CCColtsicehockey I don’t know how many people the NSXCA budgets for with regard to NSXPO. You do have to be a paying NSXCA member, though. It’s only $40. The organizers do schedule alternate activities for those not interested in the car cruise events, and there is time for people to do their own thing.

I’ll eventually post pics of my NSXPO experience in the NSX section, but you can check out my Instagram (also neuronbob) as I documented as I went along. It’ll give you an idea of what the event is about.

Going very well. Business is doing great and in between kart races I've been freelancing with a Trans-Am team. Was just in Savannah last week for the Savannah Speed Classic (vintage race) and will be in Daytona next week for the Trans-Am race.

I have always been a sucker for gold wheels on black cars/bikes so I definitely feel ya there! Again, I want to stress that I meant no disrespect at all with my prior post. The car is stunning regardless what rims are on it and it remains a dream car of mine for going on 30 years now! Please do not take offense, I have just never liked those wheels in particular on any car (seen them a bunch on STi's I believe),

That is great to hear the business is doing great. Are you helping out with the team or racing for them? Sounds like a lot of fun either way.

I am trying to decide if I want to get a NSX-R vented hood or not for the car. Even if I get one I don't think I would leave it carbon on to more than maybe the vent opening as an accent. I would most likely have it painted. They even make a version that is fiberglass on top to be painted and carbon on the bottom instead. Mods though will have to hold off for a while after the purchase of the car. Just goiing to enjoy it as is while doing some TLC and restoration repairs to different things.

Please do not take offense, I have just never liked those wheels in particular on any car (seen them a bunch on STi's I believe),
None taken at all. I do like the wheels but at the same time I think the gold would be a classier look overall for the NSX. The Volk TE37 is just a timeless classic JDM wheel at this point. It has been around for so long.

Custom plate definitely needs to happen. Been thinking of doing BLKDRAGN or BLKDRGN.

Helping out with the team. My buddy got hired on as the crew cheif as they are building the team up and he recruited me to help out. I'm not quite as knowledgeable about the cars so I help with basic setup (tires, pressures, prep, etc) as well as some data stuff form their data acquisition setup. I'll grab a pic of his car from the Savannah Speed Classic. He raced his NASCAR at that event, but next week in Daytona will be his Vettes in the Trans-Am series.
