One reason Acura is not considered a "luxury brand"

Oh and its Acura's corporate policy that loaners only be given out for warranty work. Not oil changes nor routine maintenance. If you get a loaner otherwise, consider it a bonus on the part of the dealership.

I just don't understand why people complain about the loaner they receive from the dealer. What do they want to do in it? I can see complaining if your car is going to be in the shop for a week, otherwise it's ridiculous. You typically drive home, then drive back to the dealer to get your car. I don't need a Rolls for that.

Dude that happens everywhere and doesnt say shit whether Acura is luxury or not.
My buddy just bought a 100K mercedes. They wanted his trade so they told him they'd give him a loaner till they got his new car in. He turned away seven loaners before he got one that wasnt a ragged out piece of shit. Some came up with windshields broke. Guy even said, "dude we've got these back with rubbers in the back seat, freakin vomit everywhere"
That doesnt say anything about Mercedes. It says so many other things though...

I don't think this issue per se is the reason why Acura is not considered higher in the "luxury brand" rankings, but it is a sympton of one of the many problems.
Even though they are "independently owned", the dealers should still step up and be more "premium" in their dealings with customers, and Acura should be more demanding in requiring dealers to be consistent when it comes to loaners (ie not just require loaners, but require an Acura as a loaner, or whatever else) but I guess when dealers are used to dealing with Integras and RSX's, they're gonna be like that.
For an oil change, my Infiniti dealer will drive to my workplace and pick up my car and leave a loaner, leaving keys at the front desk (current generation G35's). I have yet to take them up on that since I have access to lifts and friends in the business, but it is a nice perk...even for just a $40 oil change.

IMO you should have gotten in the loaner, seen how dirty it was then go back in and tell them to get you another car since it bothered you. That would be the true gauge of "customer service." Some lot-boy being lazy and not properly cleaning out a car is reflection on that lot boy. If you voiced your concern and they did not take care of you THAT would be a reflection on the dealer.
