She never showed me the wheels she wanted this weekend. Too busy cooking and hosting over the holiday. If she's home early I'm going to have her show me tonight...

mmmmmm....
And, don't forget to share with us which wheels she wants.

Advanced
Not defectors. I aspire to MB.
Right now, with a 4-year-old son and a 21-year-old stepson in college, I just need the reliability and no-unexpected-repairs reputation of Honda, but wanted something a little more upscale, so we went with Acura (TSX Sportwagon).
I REALLY wanted a CPO GLK350. I know they're supposed to be the most reliable Mercedes so far (like the new C-class), but that meant when I was done paying it off, it would have ~140-160K miles on it. I didn't want to know what repairs on an eight year old MB with that many miles would be. Plus, I think it would be just a bit too small for us. And while the 278hp-6 would have been REAL nice, I wasn't looking forward to 16mpg around town.
But maybe our financial picture will be different in a few years (wife back to work, etc) and I can get a C-class or something for myself. But for now, I'll be driving the 2004 Saab 9-5 wagon we just replaced with the wagon. It's got 135K miles on it and is replacing a 2003 9-5 Aero with 210K miles on it.
I love my Saabs, but with the company in so much trouble, MB is next in line.

Damn the anhracite one looks good. Believe the white car has smaller wheels or a lower drop but if you do it exactly like the anthracite one it will look great.

mmmmmm....
I am not really feeling the first one (black finish on inside spoke), makes the wheels lot smaller.... I am feeling the second pic set up better.
#49
LOL... 3 actually. All married with kids (12 nieces and nephews between the 3)...
I believe the anthracite one is on 20's and the white is on 18's (may be 19's). We'd likely do 18's since it's a DD (and I'm not buying new tires ). But yes, her car would be lowered to look more like the Anthracite one. That white one looks off. Not sure if it's the dust on the tires or 4x4 look (or both), but something seems off.
Personally I'd love the anthracite look on that car... so maybe I can convince her to do that. It may also be easier to see them side by side so she can see how the different finishes look together...

She doesn't think 18s are to small
You can use the factory wheels and tires for winter you know

^ No, she likes the stock look/feel... just wants different rims... so we'll stay 18".
Plus, who changes their wheels/tires for winter down here anyway? As soon as we moved to CLT in 2005 I sold all my spare and winter setups. No need to change b/c at the site of one flurry, we're working from home...

I know that was my point
I unfortunately am still toying with the idea of buying another set of tires since I have summer performance and drive home to PA for the holidays. Not sure what to do?

That CLS is crazy

mmmmmm....
Luckily, it wasn't my fault, so everything will be covered.
Everyone came out... it was small accident, but I have a neck pain though.
I am sad to see my car like that... but I am getting a mod itch from this accident.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
Ouch. Sorry to see that happen, but no one was hurt and it's covered. Just be sure to take it to a Mercedes dealer for this. They should get it right.

Took delivery of the new ride two weeks ago. I sold my TL on a Wednesday (was going to borrow a spare car from good friends of mine until the new one arrived) and I received word on Thursday that my car would be ready for delivery on Saturday morning. Perfect timing! It's a 2012 Palladium Silver on Ash C250, Premium 1, S32 COMAND, burl walnut trim, Keyless Go, and Rearview Camera
Very happy with the car so far. Good size for me...I don't need much space as I'm a bachelor with no family. With that said, I would not be too comfortable with this car if I had rear-seat passengers regularly. There's not a lot of space back there, but that's the way this car is supposed to be.

I been thinking about trying out Sylvania bulbs as well... If it is too much to ask, could you take some pictures? I want to see how close it gets to "HID look".
#70
though the SSU have been the brightest with the PIAA a close second
#72
And you can definitely get bulbs close to the HID look. My 02 TL-S had HID low beams (want to say 4200k or 4500k), but halogen high beams and fogs. Had PIAA's in the high beams and CATZ in the fogs... and you could barely tell the difference between the HID and the other lights. Especially the fogs... they were almost a dead match for the HID's in the headlights.
#73
well I have a C so i dont have experience with the E, but ill assume the lows on the E (non xenon) use the same halogen projector and the highs use the squarish projector
I mean, they are better than stock for sure, but in my experience the match just isn't there, maybe i'm anal about my light matching
though i agree bulb upgrades in general are a great idea, and the "halogen projectors" that mercedes uses are pretty damn awesome since you can swap HID's into them and still get a decent cutoff without retrofitting
never tried CATZ (?)

ahhh the MB thread.
i have a 2010 E350 4Matic, Sport, P2, Pano.
I was able to get my streaming bluetooth activated as well. Pretty happy about that.
What else is there for these cars. I dont see as much as I do for BMW's.
For lowering springs or coilovers? dont want crappy ride quality!
