...and it still looks awesome. It's just unbelievable how such a simple design can be so timeless, classic and eye catching all at the same time. It could seriously be on showroom floors today and look relevant.

This. There's a good reason the Miata is still produced. I wish the S2000 were being produced, but I can live with that and I understand business concerns.

I assume a hardtop is quieter than a softtop?
#3205
regarding the S2000, I've met a couple of former owners that got rid of theirs for a Miata. One of them ended up getting a second car. They both said the Miata was easier to live with, and oddly both ended up using their Miata for motorsport more than the S2000.

The PRHT has less buffeting, but a similar amount of noise. The removable hardtop is substantially quieter on the NCs.

Once I put the soft top back in (previous owner removed it for weight savings )...the hard top sat on a rack in my garage indefinitely. Even in rainy ass Florida, I generally have either a rain free top down drive TO or FROM work.
Saturday evening I cruised down US27 (in the Everglades) to head home from a party...man...renewed my feeling justified with owning a frivolous 2nd convertible car. Beautiful sunset, lady in passenger seat, listening to music, wind in our hair. Fantastic...

...and on another note, screw you for living in an area with views. I can drive 3 hours in every direction and its still flatter than....flat.

SERIOUSLY, man...
I swear, been neglecting the TL lately because every time it's NOT raining I open the garage door and I'm like...HMMM...yeah, why would I NOT drive the S2000?!?! Love it too...it's more than just the handling too, it's just a pleasure to drive, even at low no torque rpm...the exhaust not and the light feeling...it's really a great driving car. I'm sure the miata is the same...at their NOT limits, I bet they drive very similarly.

It's a little too hot for me during the day but there are some summer days and many nights when I wish I had a roofless car. I loved driving to the beach with the t-tops off in my Camaro four people fit reasonably well too.
But then a convertible Camaro/Mustang = :ghey:

One of the redeeming things about my part of California (I love and hate living here)... plenty of outdoor trails - hiking, mountain biking. And twisty roads within 45 mins driving. The famous PCH 1 is not far off, probably my most favorite freeway to drive on.

I would get a Miata for track purposes over my S
then again, the Miata isn't going anywhere and isn't hard to find old or new.
The S however, I feel an obligation to not beat it into the ground. sort of like a preservation mode.

Saw this thread and just realized that holy @#$%, I've had mine for over 2.5 years now.
And looking over my maintenance log -- my rear tires are still at 8/16" after 13k miles and I've hit 30 mpg on a tank several times. I'm a disgrace to ricers everywhere.

Yay...thanks!
Those were my exact requirements for an exhaust...the only other one I considered was the greddy spectrum elite but they're hard to find and double the price.
If you check out my videos there are a handful of them to my youtube page of the s2000 exhaust specifically.

Summer is year round, come on down!
rs, fantastic little vid, man. I'm not confident in my skills just yet. incredible how much better the evo 245's grip though, i'd gotten used to how easily I could break the 225's free to do some sick fish tails off of a u-turn.
Cute Kid
Oh...and TE's sold!

its more complicated with the throttle when its dry, but when its wet... its nothing.
this is an old abandoned movie theater right off the interstate. no businesses nearby and the trees cover it from the highway. perfect play spot when its wet
and I wanted those TEs!!!!

With my radio bluetooth thing, it's more than just nice to have...it gives perfect reception to the radio. No holes were drilled in the making of this car.
Oh sh*t, I guess this means you took the S on the road trip and all went well. Impressions on a long drive?
