Thanks! Don't have to sell, but to make things easier I am going to for the time being! Both Z06's. Straight line, the CR is still a turd, but damn does it feel 100 times better than a reg S2K! IMO!

I guess I am bitter at Honda for not putting the higher revving engine back in it, or increasing power, beefing up the rear dif., etc....

I owned an 02 AP1, loved it but the car just did not seem solid. Even at only 19k miles when I sold it, it just was not the same as an AP2. So I got an 06 LBP S2K, loved it even more, tons of fun etc. Drove a CR and just feel in love. Everything from the tires, steering is much stiffer, the chassie as a whole feels a good deal stiffer, to not sliding around in the leather seats. The car felt night and day better than my AP2 and it only had 12k miles when I sold it.
AP1!
AP2!
AP2 Track Form!
AP2 When I Sold It!
I see you have an Si! One car I really wish I never sold

haha once I found I could get my hands on a Brand New Apex Blue Pearl CR I had to do it. Now I need a house though, so the toys will have to wait! Picked up an 06 TSX to have some fun with for now!

I'm finally selling my AP2 CT supercharger with AC, the Walbro fuel pump I bought to install with it, and the AP1 pulley I bought. With a CTS-V, I just have no interest in installing it anymore.
Proper BM thread coming, but until then it's on S2KI.
Edit: BM thread HERE-click.

Besides s2ki, what are the best places to be searching for a AP2 (prob an 07-08 vs 05-06).
Craigslist
any other places anyone has found any luck
Ideal would be 07, low miles <25-30k and blue
Thanks for the ideas

I found my S2000 on Autotrader. Otherwise, S2ki and Craigslist would have been places I suggested.
On S2ki, it helps if you go to the regional forum for the person selling the car if they have one. The local members will often be able to tell you whether the seller is a tool or is honest.

Congrats on the great stable with the V and the S2K.

I was quite close to getting an '03 S2K. Local guy wanted to trade his for my RL but I'd rather have an '04.

Man, if only I had more money. I would get an S2k for a daily..... aggghh
I want a roadster badly and its perfect.... lower maintenance than say a Boxster, decent gas mileage and funner than a Miata

Any opinions on what S2000 values / prices will do in the next year or two? I think the fact that Honda isn't producing them anymore is soon going to greatly affect supply and demand for low-mileage cars and the prices.
Lately I've been poking around the usual car-buying websites and wondering if prices on low-mileage S2k's will come down a little more, remain constant or go up in the coming year or two. I'm guessing that at some point, a low-mileage, near-mint s2000's will hold their value at a certain point and later on, may actually go up in value (years from now). Anyone have a guess of when that might happen??
Any thoughts? I'd love to get an S at some point and now might be the best time. I'm just trying to decide if I should increase my budget to find the AP2 in the condition I want, or wait for the prices to come down. My target price for an AP2 is under $15k, which hard to find lately. I'm also cosidering just settling for an AP1 with higher miles (around 50k+) for less $. My target goal for an AP1 would be $11-13k. Any thoughts on that idea? Thanks.

Is this used S2000 worth it?--click thread on S2KI should help.
I think your price ranges are reasonable given the miles you quote.
Now, and mid-to-late fall, are the best times of year to buy an S2000, prices are still low and will go up as the weather warms up.
As for the future....who knows? There are still NEW 2008s and 2009s on the lots. Once those are gone, the value will still continue to decline for a few years, then may increase. I didn't buy my S2000 as an investment, after all.

My buddy just bought an s2000 a couple weeks ago from a private seller; based on these facts I was wondering yall's opinions if he paid too much or if it was a good
It is '06, white, ~45k miles, bought it for $15,000.
I went with him to look at it when he got it so here is what we both saw. The convertible roof had a little cut in it at one corner to where water could leak a little inside but not much, wasn't a major issue to him. The passenger seat had a cut in it like someone stuck a knife in it and carved a 6 inch cut in it. The rearview mirror wouldn't stay on. There was a small crack in the windshield (when he took it back home he noticed it got bigger so he is going to replace the windshield). There are 4 worn down, different tires on it - yokohama, pirelli, falken, dunlop (he is going to get a new set). Other than that it looked and ran great.
Regardless of these things I just mentioned above, he had his eyes set on an s2000 for the longest time and wanted it really badly, so he got it. Think it was good or could have gotten it for less or maybe waited for another one?

Not sure how much a used S2000 seat would cost but I'd guess $800-1000, windshield would cost anywhere from $200-1000 (depending on insurance deductible, I guess) and new tires, anywhere from $600-1000. Guesstimating.... so at the very most he would spend another $3000 to get it really nice. I think $18,000 for a GPW with 45k miles on it is a good deal. It's hard to find a nice white one.
I was looking at a '06 Formula Red S2000 6 months ago.... it was going for $22,000 and it had 3x,xxx miles on it. It was perfect, just some minor rock chips on the front, expected wear for a car that's been driven.

Thanks for the link, Neuronbob!!
I've been reading the thread for the last hour...it's intoxicating!!!
On a side note, I've come across an '05 garage queen with 20k miles for $17.5k. It's more than I want to spend, but it's the color I want and it's only about 3 hours away. I'm torn
After reading some of the s2k thread, I think it's alittle overpriced. I'm going to try to be patient, unless the buyer comes down on price a little.

The consensus over at S2k.com is that the S is grossly overpriced right now ($2k-4k); which makes sense because it IS spring and lots of us sickos get the itch this time of year to buy a new car...especially a convertible. Do all of you agree??
Should I wait for the exact deal that I'm hoping for or increase my budget for a low-mileage AP2 that I dream about owning? My problem is that I am pretty cheap (so my wife tells me) and sometimes I think that I can obtain better deals than whose that are actually available. And I don't want to miss out on "The deal" just because I think I can find another one for $1,000 less in six months. Here is a picture of the car that is 3 hours away....it is a stock car in the color combo that I want..http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...nt=S2000-6.jpg
Thoughts? I was really trying to stay at or below $15k for an AP2, but I wasn't expecting to find such a beautiful, low-mileage option as this one.

The thing I've found when you're looking for cars is that there will always be a better deal out there. But the car you really want may not show up all that often. Chances of finding the perfect car for an amazing deal is slim to none.... unless you're willing to fly across the country or something, especially for a relatively low production car like the S2000.
You may find one for $1,000 less in 6 months but maybe in 12 months you may find one for $2,500 less.... and so on. At which point your infatuation with the car may pass.

Ken, I can't believe you haven't found your S yet. How long has it been, two years? Maybe this video will help you get off yer butt....I watch it a couple of times a week during the winter to remind myself what driving an S is like. And yes, I know it's a repost , I post it at least once a year in this thread....

Well I've recently moved to a far far drier part of Oregon that is very convertible friendly.
And in addition, the new house has a 3 car garage
So the excuses have pretty much run out.
