Not stupid...you just don't know the answer!

Advan wheels. RS Model.

Ken, EEK...I take my sunshine for granted in Florida, huh.

SamDoe1 11-12-2014 09:17 AM

^ Those wheels will be the first purchase I make when I buy my S2k in a few months. We just had our first blizzard here on Monday (12in of snow) so not too much longer before I start legitimately looking!

rockstar143 11-12-2014 10:27 AM

I'm not keen on shipping, but if you're interested and they are still available, I'd certainly consider it when the time comes.

rockstar143 11-12-2014 10:27 AM

and thanks Sam...I am in love with those wheels...that's why I had them on BOTH my cars.

SamDoe1 11-12-2014 11:01 AM

I didn't necessarily mean the ones you have haha, just that type in general.

I'm keeping a close eye on craigslist ads and s2ki for potential options. When the perfect one pops up, I'll grab it.

Working on selling my Expedition in the mean time...still no bites.

rockstar143 11-12-2014 11:45 AM

Gotcha...well good luck in all your future endeavors.

neuronbob 11-13-2014 03:36 PM

 I put my S away for another winter over the weekend, since our first snow was coming. :( It'll be another winter of living vicariously through you guys who get to live in warmer, less snowy climes.

Enjoying all the talk of wheels. I'm considering going the other way next driving season, back to my AP1 stockers. I have them, in my basement, with the original now 12-year-old SO2 tires on them. It's now been four years since they've been on the car and I'm feeling a hankering for stock.

TLDude876 11-13-2014 04:12 PM

^no introduction of the RLX in your sig? :wish:

rockstar143 11-13-2014 07:43 PM

That's cause for a baller like Bob, the RLX is just a boring daily driver and he'd much rather talk about the S or the V.

TylerT 11-15-2014 12:30 PM

Mom came out for her first cars & coffee
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...bd078a280a.jpg

We rolled with both of our S2000s, great turnout.

Anybody going to the next cars & coffee in Irvine?

rockstar143 11-17-2014 07:59 AM

I friggen love Irvine!
Hooray for a cool Momma, Tyler!
:woot:

TylerT 11-19-2014 07:55 PM

Found out that the iPhone 6 fits perfectly in the headrest .... which gave me the idea to do this:

2nd Gear:

Costco 11-19-2014 08:02 PM

You chose a fitting title :tomato:

Just messing with you, even baby slides with little drama are still very fun. Every time I see a right hand turn with good visibility and a protected green light, I get excited.

MEKO 11-19-2014 08:08 PM

I love left turnes Costco, wider range to slide hehe
:racing:

JS + XES 11-19-2014 08:14 PM

Where's the drifting part though!?

rockstar143 11-20-2014 07:01 AM

After losing it on an overambitious 2nd gear turn...I stopped doing those except on u-turns.

rockstar143 11-20-2014 08:29 AM

There it is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGPG...ature=youtu.be

civicdrivr 11-20-2014 09:58 AM

^ Something similar happened to me in NC a few weeks ago. Rain + 40* weather + cold tires + surface change = tank slapper

I was only doing about 15mph in second gear too. It freaked Tyler out

MEKO 11-20-2014 09:26 PM

Too much, yeah you slowed down too much :D Should've power slide it.

Damn I miss you guys and I friggen love how that exhaust screams

rockstar143 11-21-2014 01:00 PM

What exhaust? I hate it...I don't hear anything...fk that car...yuck...dammittttt

Morgan,

JS + XES 11-21-2014 01:18 PM

Noob!

rockstar143 11-21-2014 03:55 PM

JS + XES 11-21-2014 03:57 PM

You weren't expecting that to happen though huh? If you had anticipated it, you probably have caught it haha.

rockstar143 11-21-2014 04:01 PM

Fk yes! I had only had the car a few months there and hadn't really nailed down the whole forward moment in addition to the sideways...I wanted to go sideways but I then shat my pants and overcorrected in a major way.
I got schooled in physics that day!

JS + XES 11-21-2014 04:20 PM

haha yeah. that almost happened to me at the track on the first session. it was like my first time pushing a RWD car in the corner. i was so overwhelmed. I didn't get to correct it enough to push forward obviously, but at the same time, I didn't fully spin out. My car just went right-left-right in a very rough fashion. It probably looked super noob from behind.

But then now when I want to turn off the nannies and take that favorite 90 degree turn by my place, it's soooooooo fun.

downshift to 2nd
mash it right when i exit
the rear kicks out and counter it
it kinda drifts up the hill

OMG SO FUNNNNNN

oonowindoo 11-21-2014 04:22 PM

try that with your Audi and see what happens :D

Oh..... I've actually never done that before...... I'm too scared. The only spirited driving of that car was going up the Big Bear mountain. I remember it was understeering when i pushed it too hard..

What would happen if I do it with all the nannies off!?

Not sure with a AWD cars.

It breaks down and coasts to a stop on the side of the track? :D

I kid, I kid

haha noooooooo

Thankfully, the Avant has been trouble free for the past 5.5 years! :woot:

rockstar143 11-21-2014 04:55 PM

I borrowed my buddy's old S5 for a week and even with traction off, I couldn't get it to go sideways out of first.

and another big difference, you did your foolery on a track. While I was just a fool on the street!

4 wheel drift FTW! While the BMW I had didn't have enough power to really powerslide (safely) in the dry, it could do some epic powerslides in the snow. Basically you have the rear kicking out and providing the cool factor and the front pulling providing forward motion. It's pretty fun, you should try it. :)

Just have to make sure you don't overcorrect. Overcorrect and you look like a newb when you spin it out. Not enough throttle and you make a safe turn around a corner. Gotta have the perfect balance of gas and steering angle to get the 4 wheel drift.

Either you're lying or that Audi is taking it's sweet time in plotting the demise of your wallet.

That's interesting! I'll find a empty lot and try it out first.

I remember trying to take the 90 degree turn fast with the nannies off couple years ago. I think I made a very safe fast turn. :pofl:

The B8 A4s have a pretty good reputation on the reliability part. The first 3 year of B8 A4s have an oil consumption issue which can fixed with a dealer visit. That's the only known issue. I've been on Audizine ever since we bought the car and it's the same til now. Hopefully it will be trouble free for another 2-3 years. :wish:

rockstar143 11-21-2014 05:26 PM

That makes me regret not selling my unborn child to buy the S5 from my buddy. He sold it off his lease to go buy his 911...:bored:

It really doesn't look that impressive on the video .. I seriously felt like I had the car so sideways

We'll be greeted with some rain this weekend!

Makes for some interesting runs to the grocery store .. that's for sure ;).

Lol... it sits, plotting and waiting, for the opportune moment to destroy your bank account! Financial ruin... is its only iteneriary!

It'll be one fine summer day, after years of no problems and low cost of ownership...the reign of the Audi dealer will begin. After the dashboard lights up like a christmas tree, the electronics go haywire, the turbo gets full of sludge, and then they hand you a $5k bill to fix it only to have to bring it back the next month for more. That's when you'll wish you bought the TSX wagon.

JS + XES 11-24-2014 12:01 PM

Oh grow a pair, you guys. :pofl:

JS + XES 11-24-2014 12:03 PM

TSX Wagon will never happen since it's my wife's car. She hates Japanese brands. haha

The new MB wagons looks extra awesome. :yum:

rockstar143 11-24-2014 07:20 PM

I want BMW at some point...
Although that Audi could be great too!

TacoBello 11-25-2014 10:39 AM

I'd honestly love to have an Audi.

The problem is that I don't ever want to buy a new car again, and buying a used Audi means I have just that much less warranty. Some of them seem to be ok, but there seem to be plenty of lemons. I'd be terrified of owning one.
